Has anyone actually used this for homebrewing with success? I have something like the one below, and it doesn’t really help the water/wort boil (I think it automatically shuts off around that temperature). I was hoping it would help me keep my wort boiling when I brew indoors on my electric, glass stovetop, but the only stuff that boils is what’s right around the heating element.

I can’t get 5 gallons to a full rolling boil with my allied heat stick, although it gets close to a boil. I use mine mostly for strike and sparge water. Something like this may be a helper (along with another heat source) to get to or maintain a boil. Here’s my review of the allied – https://www.homebrewfinds.com/2013/11/hands-on-1000-watt-heat-stick-with-temp.html
