The Therminator is the fastest way to chill wort to yeast pitching temperature and get fermentation off to a quick, bacteria-free start. The Therminator is able to Chill 10 gal (37.8 L) of wort in 5 minutes to 68°F (20°C) using 58°F (14.4°C) cooling water flowing at 5 gal/min (19 L/min).
- All 316 stainless steel plates and fittings.
- Identical to commercial brewery chillers.
- Brazed together with pure copper in an oxygen free furnace.
- No potential leaks like a gasketed unit.
- Super low restriction makes this ideal for gravity feed.
- Easy to clean and sanitize.
- Male garden hose thread connections for water in/out.
- 1/2″ male NPT fittings for wort in/out.
- Low water consumption.
- Comes with heavy gauge stainless mounting bracket.
- Compact: 7.5 x 4 x 3 (19 x 10.2 x 7.6 cm)
The therminator has male garden hose fittings for the water in and out. If you are attaching a regular garden hose to it, you will need a female to female adapter.
The Plate Chiller Backflush Adapter makes it easy to attach a garden hose to the NPT threads of the heat exchanger to simplify washing. It can either be looped to pump hot cleaning solution (such as PBW) using a pump, or it can be attached to a faucet using a kitchen sink-to-garden hose adapter to push hot water through in the opposite direction of the normal wort flow.
Also recommended are the Blichmann QuickConnect fittings. These allow you to easily attach either 3/8″ or 1/2″ tubing to the wort side of the chiller. With these fittings, everything that touches the wort is either stainless steel or silicone. They install without tools, are easy to disassemble, and sanitizing is easy. You need one fitting for the wort in, and one for wort out. See below to add.

Typically, this is not discounted. Why? This is a MAP item. MAP = Minimum Advertised Price. It’s an agreement between sellers and manufacturer’s not to sell an item below a certain price. This generally sells for about the same price no matter where you purchase it from and rarely discounted. Having said that, there are some loopholes…
Works With: As of this posting, Austin Homebrew Supply is giving away a free $20 gift card with all purchases of $100 or more. I believe that the only exclusion is… gift cards. This equates to a back door discount on lots of product lines that typically are not discounted. It also stacks with items that are already on sale. No coupon code is necessary.
