More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Cannular is a manual can seamer that is easy to use, reliable and beautifully simple.

Whether you’re a brewery looking to offer canned beer to go or a homebrewer wanting to keep your creations fresh and fully protected from light, the Cannular is the answer. This bench top unit is one of the most compact and easy to use can seamers you’ll find. The Cannular only requires one person to operate, and each can takes roughly 5 seconds to seam. With a two-person team, one filling and one seaming, the Cannular becomes a suitable option for nano breweries doing small canning production runs.

Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:

Place lid atop the can and place the can on the platform
Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
Press the button to turn the machine on and begin spinning the can
Push the seaming lever away from you and hold for 1-2 seconds
Pull the seaming lever towards yourself and hold for 1-2 seconds
Press the button to turn off the machine and stop spinning the can
Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can
That’s all there is to it!

Construction:
The Cannular was designed to be compact, durable, and safe to operate in a wet environment. The platform assembly is made from 304 grade stainless steel, so no matter how messy your canning gets, there’s no need to worry about rusting or degradation. The body of the unit is made from hammered sheet metal and bolted together with stainless steel screws. Rubber feet help keep the unit from slipping and sliding while in use. Additionally, the Cannular features built-in brackets near the feet so you have the option to mount the machine to your counter or benchtop. The Cannular runs off of 24v DC power via the Anderson socket located on the back. This lower voltage was chosen specifically to make the unit as safe to use in a wet environment as possible.

Power:
As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24v DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. When purchasing the unit, you’ll have the option of pairing it with either a power supply with 110v plug, or with a 6 ft. long cord with Anderson plug and alligator clips. The power supply is straight forward, and allows you to plug the unit into a standard 110v power socket. The alligator clips give you the option to power the unit from a battery, and can even be used with an 18v cordless power drill battery. This is certainly the most affordable option for powering the Cannular, and we’ve found that upwards of 200 cans can be seamed on a single battery charge.

Why Cans?
So why can when you can bottle? There’s no doubt that canning has become a more and more popular format for packaging beer among craft breweries over the last several years, and with good reason. Aluminum cans aren’t just more environmentally friendly than bottles, since cans require less energy to transport and recycle, they’re also much better at protecting the quality of the beer. Whereas bottles allow in light, which leads to skunking, aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There’s still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans, on the other hand, form a much better seal that can prevent these issues. Of course, it’s important to make sure that the can is purged of oxygen before being filled, and that the can lid is sealed atop foam to eliminate oxygen from the headspace. Aside from all the “sciency stuff”, cans are just plain safer. Take your beer backpacking, camping, or poolside and rest assured that broken glass won’t ruin your day!

Cannular Home Beer Canning Machine + Transformer! – Save $50 + Hands on Review

Cannular Canning Machine

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The KegLand Cannular can seamer is one of the most compact and easy to use benchtop can seamers around. With a single operator you can seam/seal the cans in under 5 seconds meaning this compact machine is suitable for small breweries or brewpubs doing small production runs. The Cannular comes with a die for a size 202 beer can lid.  Additional dies will be available in the future, but for right now, only cans with a size 202 lid can be canned on this machine.

SAFE 24 VOLT POWER (OPTIONAL) If you have ever used a can seamer you would know that you can sometimes spill liquids while processing cans. As a result we have made the Cannular machine with 24v DC so even when you make a mess you don’t have a risk of electrocuting yourself. This also makes the machine easier to clean and wash down. An optional step down transformer plugs into any 110 volt outlet. If you do not purchase this optional transformer, you need to get an Anderson Plug twin wire lead so you can feed power into the Cannular Canning Machine.  Suitable DC power sources besides transformers include cordless drill batteries, and even car batteries.

GO ANYWHERE & EASILY RECYCLED Cans are a fantastic choice for outdoor events, parties, pool events, or at the beach. Broken glass can be dangerous and difficult to clean up completely. Cans on the other hand are the safest choice in this respect.

LIGHT BLOCK  Many beverages especially beer can get damaged quickly due to light. If you expose many beers to sunlight for even 5 minutes the beer can become light damaged (“skunked”). Even softer light such as indoor lights will damage beer over time and noticeable skunking can occur with both incandescent and fluorescent light globes within hours. So unless you keep your glass bottles in the dark all the time you will compromise the beer quality. Aluminium cans solve this problem by blocking 100% of damaging light. Dimensions 14″ depth x 9″ wide x 20″ height.

The Cannular Canning machine comes already adjusted to use the 500ml cans that we sell. If however you use different can sizes or the machine has become out of alignment in shipping you may need to adjust the Cannular.

Deal on Brand New Empty Beer Cans… 414! Fresh Aluminum Cans & Tops – $169.98, 41 cents each AND free shipping

Can Fresh Aluminum Beer Cans - 16.9 oz. (Case of 207) CAN150

207 new, unseamed 16.9 ounce aluminum cans and tops via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. Seamed cans form a much better seal, which can prevent these issues

Aside from better protection, aluminum cans are undoubtedly the safest option for sharing and enjoying your homebrew. Bring your canned creations tailgating, camping, boating, or crack a few open poolside without the worry of broken glass!

  • 16.9 oz aluminum cans
  • Each case contains 207 cans and lids
  • One case is enough for roughly five 5-gallon batches of beer
  • Compatible with the Cannular Can Seamer (CAN100)

Please note that empty aluminum cans are very delicate, and up to 5% of the cans are likely to be dented or damaged in transit. If the cans were packed in a more protective (more expensive) cardboard box, the cost per can would be more expensive than simply having some dented/sacrificial cans arrive.

MoreBeer’s Stainless Steel Counter Pressure Bottle Filler – $59.49 + Free Shipping via Top Rated Gear Sale

7912

Counter Pressure Bottle Filler by MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The counter pressure bottle filler that sets the standard for filling beer bottles at home. With a unique one way valve and adjustable pressure relief you will be bottling sediment free homebrew with ease.

If you currently carbonate and store your homebrew in kegs, you can use a counter pressure filler to bottle beer directly from your kegs. One huge advantage of this method is that since you are bottling already carbonated, clear beer, there will be no sediment at the bottom of your bottles.

Counter pressure bottle filling is how a brewery bottles beer. The bottle is under pressure while the carbonated beer flows in. Because the interior of the bottle is pressurized there is minimal loss of the CO2 in solution. The opposite of filling under pressure is when you pour a beer into a pint glass where CO2 erupts out of solution creating all that foam. Great in your glass but not good when you are trying to bottle carbonated beer. Our counter pressure filler mimics a single filling head on a professional bottling line, a concept that we all know works very, very well.

Made by Fermentap, the design has two unique features. Number 1 it is the only model made entirely from stainless steel. Number 2 you flush and fill from the bottom of the bottle.

Beer barb is 3/16″. Gas barb is 5/16″.Features While some models flush the bottle from the top and fill from the bottom, our unit features a special valve that allows CO2 and beer to flow down the same stainless tube, directly to the bottom of the bottle. First CO2 flows down into the bottom of the bottle to flush from the bottom up. Next you switch the valve position and beer flows down the same tube, filling from the bottom up. The result is a more effective purging of oxygen and no foam during the filling process – not to mention that the whole thing takes one-hand to operate! Why hope that you flushed your bottle properly using a type of beer gun, when you can know for sure that you have created the best environment for your beer to be stored at by using a Counter Pressure Bottle Filler?

More Details
The unit is inserted into the bottle in the off position. The valve is then turned to CO2 to flush the bottle and then to beer for filling. The adjustable pressure relief on the side of the unit allows you control the speed of fill by adjusting the pressure in the bottle. The valve is positioned in such a way that it is easy to use with one hand, while the other holds the bottle. This model is designed for 12oz bottles but can easily be extended to accommodate larger bottles, such as 22oz, with a small piece of 1/4″ tubing.

Setting Your PSI Pressure
Before you counter pressure fill a bottle make sure you are satisfied with the carbonation level and flavor. The goal for counter pressure bottle filling is to store your beer in the most sanitary and clean environment possible so when you get ready to share your homebrew its presentation is perfect when you go to pour.

An ideal set point to set your PSI level on your regulator is 10-14 psi. This range is dependent upon the temperature of your beer and the carbonation level. We recommend you start at a lower pressure around 10psi for the first 2-3 bottles to make sure you get everything dialed in before committing to filling a whole case.

Make sure your keg is always kept cold. If your keg warms up you will have foaming issues.

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer! – $449.99 + free shipping! + Hands on Review

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer CAN100

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer

As of this posting, MoreBeer has this for just $449.99. Maybe that seems expensive, but when it comes to can seamers, in my opinion, it’s a bargain.  Shipping is free with a qualifying $59 order to many US addresses. Price, promotions and availability can change quickly.  Please note that product prices and availability are subject to change. 250 x Brewer’s Best Conditioning Carbonating Tablets

Brewer's Best Conditioning Tablets 250 Count

Brewer’s Best Conditioning Tablets 250 Count (approximate)

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • Brewer’s best conditioning tablets
  • Add 3 to 5 tablets per 12 oz bottle
  • 250 count

This unique priming sugar is in tablet format and is made from dextrose, dry malt extract, and heading powder. To use, add 3 to 5 tablets per 12 oz. bottle depending on desired carbonation level, and condition for 1 week. Each 4.5 ounce pack contains approximately 250 tablets.

These take the place of traditional priming sugar.  Carbonation tabs are also handy if you keg, but still want to naturally carbonate a few bottled beers.  In that scenario, you would keg the majority of your beer and bottle portion of the batch adding these to each bottle so that you can skip a bottling bucket and traditional priming sugar.

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer CAN100

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer

There’s still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation.
