Brand New Universal Replacement Keg Lid by Beverage Factory [Ball Lock & Pin Lock]

Beverage Factory BLL-N-AUS Replacement Lid for Home brew Keg

Beverage Factory BLL-N-AUS Replacement Lid for Home brew Keg

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

This is a universal replacement lid for home brew/soda kegs. BRAND new lid comes with closure O-Ring pressure release Valve with sturdy 1 inch metal ring to relieve pressure out of your keg.

One difference between Pin Lock and Ball Lock kegs is the type of lids that come with each.  Ball Locks, generally, have a manual PRV valve, while Pin Locks do not.  Ball Lock style lids are, in my opinion, superior because the manual PRV allows you to easily vent your keg as needed.  The good news is that, for standard kegs, the lids are the same size and can be interchanged.  That means you can use a Ball Lock style lid in a Pin Lock Keg.  See: What’s the Difference Between Ball Lock Kegs and Pin Lock Kegs?

Brewer’s Edge Paintball 0-12 PSI Mini Regulator – $39.99 via William’s Brewing

Paintball 0-12 PSI Brewer's Edge® Mini Regulator

Paintball 0-12 PSI from William’s Brewing

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Take your beer with you when you go to the beach, camping, a game, or to a party. Our Paintball Tank Mini Regulator fits any standard C02 paintball tank (sold and refilled at sporting goods stores) without the need for adapters.

The system is built around a 0-12 psi C02 regulator that features precise adjustment. This is the regulator to choose if you plan on dispensing your beer and want precise dispensing pressure control, and do not plan on carbonating, which requires higher pressures of 15 to 25 PSI.

The flared outlet on the side can be attached to any threaded female ¼” flare fittings, such as our D03 Gas Connector. Change it into a ¼” hose barb if desired by ordering our D66 Barbed Adapter. The regulator is 3 1/8″ tall when not attached to a Paintball tank.

The regulator does not include a needed C02 paintball tank. These can be purchased at many large box retailers and sporting goods stores, and can also be filled and refilled at these stores inexpensively. They generally come in sizes ranging from 12 ounce to 24 ounce, with 20 ounces being the most popular.

  • As of this posting, William’s Brewing has this on sale for just $39.99.
  • Shipping is free or reasonably priced flat rate to addresses in the lower 48 states depending on your order size for most items.

250 x Brewer’s Best Conditioning Carbonating Tablets

Brewer's Best Conditioning Tablets 250 Count

Brewer’s Best Conditioning Tablets 250 Count (approximate)

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • Brewer’s best conditioning tablets
  • Add 3 to 5 tablets per 12 oz bottle
  • 250 count

This unique priming sugar is in tablet format and is made from dextrose, dry malt extract, and heading powder. To use, add 3 to 5 tablets per 12 oz. bottle depending on desired carbonation level, and condition for 1 week. Each 4.5 ounce pack contains approximately 250 tablets.

These take the place of traditional priming sugar.  Carbonation tabs are also handy if you keg, but still want to naturally carbonate a few bottled beers.  In that scenario, you would keg the majority of your beer and bottle portion of the batch adding these to each bottle so that you can skip a bottling bucket and traditional priming sugar.

BlowTie Diaphragm Spunding Valve WITH Gauge

BlowTie Diaphragm Spunding Valve with Gauge from MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Blow Tie Spunding Valve is used to release excess pressure on a pressurized fermenter or from a receiving keg during pressure transfers. This diaphragm spunding valve is much more accurate than the spring and poppet style, and works much better at lower pressures.

The BlowTie 2 features an integrated pressure gauge so you can quickly and easily dial in your pressure setting. The gauge is removable and can be swapped out with a gauge of a different pressure range.

Pressure Fermentation

Pressure fermentation is becoming more and more popular at the homebrew level, but in order to do it safely and accurately you need a way to release excess pressure. You’ll pressurize your vessel to your desired psi, but once fermentation begins and those hungry, active yeast start creating CO2, the pressure inside the vessel will increase. Attach a spunding valve and set it to your desired pressure, and it will blow off when the pressure gets too high and close up again when it’s back to your desired psi.

Pressure Transfers
Even if you don’t have a pressurizable fermenter, you may have done pressure transfers from keg to keg during filtering or after fining. During pressure transfers, it’s a good idea to have a bit of head pressure in the receiving keg, especially if you’re transferring beer that is already carbonated. Having a spunding valve in place will allow you to consistently control the head pressure and give you more consistent results, without losing carbonation in the process.

Diaphragm vs. Poppet
With the poppet style spunding valve, a spring pushes against a poppet to keep the valve closed. When the poppet lifts up to open, the surface area the gas pushes against becomes larger, and the spring has to work harder to push the poppet down and reseal the valve. This can lead to more gas being released than intended, and the remaining pressure in your vessel may be at a lower psi than your spunding valve’s set psi.

Instead of a poppet, the spring inside the BlowTie pushes against a diaphragm, which has an immensely larger surface area. This means the surface area that the gas pushes against while the diaphragm is closed is significantly closer to the surface area it pushes against when the diaphragm is open. This leads to higher accuracy, and the remaining pressure after excess gas is released will be much closer to your set blow off pressure.

Set Up
The BlowTie spunding valve comes with 8 mm Duotight fittings on the inlet and outlet, and we recommend using it with EVABarrier 8 mm OD tubing (D1717 or D1718). You’ll also need the flare Duotight fitting (DUO106) in order to attach it to a ball lock or pin lock disconnect. Dialing in your desired pressure is even easier with the BlowTie 2, thanks to the integrated pressure gauge. Simply start with the adjustment knob fully closed, then slowly open it until the gauge reading matches your desired pressure setting.

Specifications:

  • Made from food grade acetal
  • Stainless screws
  • Easily disassembles for cleaning
  • 8mm (5/16″) Duotight fittings at both ends
  • Interchangeable pressure gauge
  • Gauge reads from 0-23 psi

WARNING: Do not exceed gauge pressure. Exceeding the pressure range will damage the gauge.

  • DuoTight Fittings and Accessories along with EVABarrier Tubing are… awesome.  In my opinion, the system is a game-changer for kegerator owners and builders.
  • The BlowTie is part of that lineup.
  • This is v2.  The big innovation is that v2 includes and integrated gauge.  Check out my Hands on Review of the v1 BlowTie Valve

BlowTie Diaphragm Spunding Valve via MoreBeer

More Info

The BlowTie Spunding Valve is used to release excess pressure on a pressurized fermenter or from a receiving keg during pressure transfers. This diaphragm spunding valve is much more accurate than the spring and poppet style, and works much better at lower pressures.

Set Up
The BlowTie spunding valve comes with 8 mm Duotight fittings on the inlet and outlet, and we recommend using it with EVABarrier 8 mm OD tubing (D1717 or D1718). You’ll also need the flare Duotight fitting (DUO106) in order to attach it to a ball lock or pin lock. Dialing in your desired pressure is very simple. Although you would ideally use the BlowTie with the Push-In Pressure Gauge (D1160) and Duotight Tee Fitting (DUO109), as seen in the example photo, you can easily set the blow off pressure without it. To do this, simply pressurize an empty keg to your desired psi using your CO2 regulator. Before attaching the BlowTie to the gas post, be sure to turn the dial clockwise until it is fully closed. Once attached, slowly turn the dial counterclockwise until gas starts coming out, then slightly turn the dial back to stop the gas flow. The BlowTie is now set to your desired pressure.

Specifications:

  • Made from food grade acetal
  • Stainless screws
  • Easily disassembles for cleaning
  • 8mm (5/16″) Duotight fittings at both ends
  • 0-40 psi pressure rating

Brewer’s Edge Ball Lock Mini Regulator – $39.99, Save $20 via William’s Brewing Clearance

0-12 PSI Ball Lock Brewer's Edge® Mini Regulator

0-12 PSI Ball Lock Brewer’s Edge® Mini Regulator from William’s Brewing

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Our 0-12 PSI Ball Lock Mini Regulator takes 74 gram Brewer’s Edge C02 cartridges, which hold enough gas to dispense a carbonated 5 gallon ball-lock keg.

Features a 0-12 psi C02 regulator that features precise adjustment via the calibrated top adjustment knob. Adjustment as low as 2 PSI is possible for precise dispensing and avoidance of the beer gaining carbonation while sitting. This 0-12 PSI model should not be purchased if you plan to force carbonate (pick the 0-30 PSI model D74 instead), only for precise dispensing. Fits ball-lock kegs, and includes the pictured stainless ball lock keg connector.

The flared outlet on the side that goes to the stainless ball lock fitting can be unscrewed and leaves a 1/8″ female NPT port. Into this port you can screw any 1/8″ NPT male thread hose barb or threaded outlet (such as our item I80).

The regulator does not include a pictured cartridge, you will be offered a chance to order these when you put this in your cart. Note that C02 cartridges cannot be shipped by air or express, and cannot be shipped outside the lower 48 states due to aviation and postal regulations.

FOR C02 ONLY: This regulator is designed for use with C02 only, and should not be used with higher pressure argon or nitrogen gas.

Cornelius Firestone Keg Lid 304 Pressure Relief Valve Soda Lid Sealed Lid Homebrew Beer Ball Lock Barrel Beer New O-ring for Cornelius

Cornelius Firestone Keg Lid 304 Pressure Relief Valve Soda Lid Sealed Lid Homebrew Beer Ball Lock Barrel Beer New O-ring for Cornelius

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • Safety pressure valve and cleaning tips: 1. For safety reasons, when the pressure in the barrel reaches 70 psi, the valve will automatically open; 2. Please clean the kit before and after each use, and note that the diffuser needs to be boiled in water to clear the pores.
  • SS Pressure Relief Valve: This stainless steel pressure relief valve has a longer service life than a plastic pressure relief valve, so you do not need to replace the valve frequently.
  • Wide application: Widely used in carbonated beer, soda, juice, water and even soda. Suitable for all homemade wine barrels that require standard oval lids, including Firestone barrels, Cornelius barrels, pink lock barrels, etc.
  • High-quality quality: The use of 304 stainless steel structure makes this oval carbonic acid bucket lid stronger and more durable.
  • Easy to install and use: The large handle makes the installation easier; the labor-saving design of the safety release valve does not need to be lifted when deflating, just lift it once and rotate 90° to continuously deflate.

About keg Lids: One difference between Pin Lock and Ball Lock kegs is the type of lids that come with each.

  • PET Bottles as Growlers: These are generally intended to convert 1L and 2L bottles to growlers.  Fill up a 1L or 2L PET bottle with your favorite homebrew.  Put one of these on (purge the headspace by squeezing if you want to) and then pressurize for transport.  This should help to reduce oxygen pickup and maintain carbonation levels.
  • Fine tune or rapidly carbonate beer: You can also use this cap to rapidly carbonate beer.  Same process as for transport, just set your regulator to the proper pressure and shake or agitate the PET bottle to help introduce CO2.  Or hook it up to CO2 and let it sit in you kegerator.

Duotight In-Line Regulator with Gauge D1047

Duotight In-Line Regulator with Gauge via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • Easily set different pressures down stream from a single CO2 regulator
  • Serve different beer styles at different pressures
  • Compatible with both liquid and gas
  • 8mm (5/16″) Duotight fittings at both ends
  • Built-in and interchangeable pressure gauge reads from 0-60 psi
  • Easily disassembles for cleaning
  • Made from food grade acetal
  • Stainless screws

The Duotight In-Line regulator is an ideal solution if you want to serve different beers at different gas pressures. In a typical multiple line, multiple pressure system you would run a gas line from your main regulator into a secondary regulator where you would set different pressures. While that is ideal, it is a little pricey. This little sweetheart lets you set different pressures at a far lower cost. What we do is set the main regulator at the highest pressure we want in the system – for example a keg of soda that you want to carbonate and serve at 25 psi. Run the gas line into a manifold and then install one of these after the manifold on each line where you want to decrease the pressure, for example lowering to 10psi to serve your British pale ale and 14 psi to serve your summertime lawnmower lager.

Works with both gas and liquid. Easily adjust the flow can be adjusted with the yellow adjustment knob. 8 mm Duotight fittings at both inlet and outlet make this unit perfect for use with EVABarrier 8 mm OD tubing (D1717 or D1718). Features an integrated pressure gauge so you can quickly and easily dial in your pressure setting. The gauge is removable and can be swapped out with a gauge of a different pressure range.

WARNING: Do not exceed gauge pressure. Exceeding the pressure range will damage the gauge.

Corny Keg Lid With O Ring and Hang Tab For Dry Hopping [Ball Lock & Pin Lock]
