CIP (Clean in Place) Spray Balls are generally used for vessels that are too large to move.  Since they’re too large to move you… clean them in place.  If you have a larger setup, you could incorporate these into your system or routine to help clean your vessels more easily.

Other possible homebrew applications: A CIP ball could be as part of a recirculating or sparging setup or as part of a keg or carboy cleaning setup. I use a wallpaper tray to clean and sanitize longer items like racking canes, auto-siphons, spoons, tubing and beverage out dip tubes.  It works great.  These also work well for storing longer items.  If you’re going to store things in these, I would recommend stacking a couple together to give them some extra strength.

I use a similar pump (different manufacturer, features and specifications) for a recirculating draft line cleaning setup.  Note that fittings sizes are different on this pump vs the one I use in that build.  Adjust accordingly  Another possible homebrewing application would be to set this up for use a part of a recirculating wort chiller setup.

I think you should replace all keg o-rings when you refurbish or obtain a used keg. Generally speaking they are going to be worn out and even if they aren’t they’ll smell of soda pre-mix.  Beyond that, who knows what they’re made from.  Start with a clean slate.

Potential Uses:  Help with cleanup on brew day, make your kegs shine like new (see photo below) and use around the kitchen and for BBQ.  I use similar gloves when I apply rub for smoking meats.  It helps to prevent against cross contamination and I also like that it helps keep my hands from smelling like… bbq rub.  If you’re a BBQ-er like me, check out…  BBQ Finds, it’s like Homebrew Finds, but for… BBQ.

I use protective gloves when dealing with harsh chemicals  The photo above is from my post on rebuilding kegs.  Here I’m using Bar Keepers Friend – Jump To: Section on Bar Keeper’s Friend – to clean a keg.  I used protective gloves several times during this process.

I use a similar pump (different manufacturer, features and specifications) for a recirculating draft line cleaning setup.  Note that fittings sizes are different on this pump vs the one I use in that build.  Adjust accordingly  Another possible homebrewing application would be to set this up for use a part of a recirculating wort chiller setup.

CIP (Clean in Place) Spray Balls are generally used for vessels that are too large to move.  Since they’re too large to move you… clean them in place.  If you have a larger setup, you could incorporate these into your system or routine to help clean your vessels more easily.

Other possible homebrew applications: A CIP ball could be as part of a recirculating or sparging setup or as part of a keg or carboy cleaning setup.  I use this rotary spray ball with my Mark II Keg and Carboy Cleaner.  See: Mark II Keg and Carboy Washer Mod – SS CIP Spray Ball

Kemphos 2001 (CTSP Pink) is a chlorinated Trisodium Phosphate cleaner with a unique color indicator – the solution mixes as pink, and if put in brewing equipment that is dirty and full of organic deposits, will turn light yellow.
