Announcing: Megamouth Torpedo Ball Lock Kegs

Megamouth Torpedo Ball Lock Kegs

Torpedo Keg Picnic Tap Holder from MoreBeer!

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Megamouth Torpedo Kegs are by far the easiest to clean and maintain out of any ball lock homebrew keg you’ll find. With an extra-large lid opening, even the buffest of homebrewer (we hear they do exist!) will have no trouble reaching in for a good scrub when it kicks—no expensive keg washing contraptions needed! The Megamouth makes for an excellent pressurizable fermentation vessel and is the ideal choice for brewers who prefer to add dry hops and other flavoring ingredients directly to the keg.

Quality First
Here at MoreBeer! we love nothing more than quality interior welds. We’ve spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. Torpedo kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. This weld quality is possible because these kegs are made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. “In” and “Out” is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

Overall for the price and quality, along with free shipping from MoreBeer!, the Torpedo Keg is an amazing value!

Specifications:

  • Max Pressure: 130 psi
  • PRV Rating: 85 psi
  • High Quality Laser Welded Seams
  • ISO9001 Quality Assurance
  • Made from 304 Stainless Steel

7.6 Gallon Kegmenter Fermenting Keg

Ferment, carbonate and serve your delicious homebrew in the fantastic stainless steel Kegmenter. This 7.6 gallon capacity keg features a large 4″ tri-clover opening with a lid with ball lock posts and a pressure relief valve. The Kegmenter has a working pressure of 2.5 BAR or 36 psi, providing enough pressure to transfer your beer to another Kegmenter for secondary fermentation and clarification, carbonate your batch inside the vessel and dispense from your tap. A floating dip tube ensures your keg pours down to the last drop and the recessed design of the ball lock posts allow you to safely stack up to 4 Kegmenter. We recommend using two Kegmenters, one for fermenting and one for carbonating and serving. If it will take 2-3 weeks to consume the finished beer, you may want to move it to a fresh vessel to avoid leaving the beer on the trub for too long. A simple Keg Jumper (Available Here!) makes transferring easy. For any pressurized fermentation we suggest using an Adjustable Pressure Relief Valve (Available Here!).

Features:
– Ferment, Carbonate & Serve in One Vessel!
– 7.6 Gallon Capacity – Perfect for 5 Gallon Batches
– Stainless Steel Construction with 4″ Tri-Clover Opening
– Ball Lock Post Keg Lid with Pressure Relief Valve
– 36 PSI Working Pressure
– Stack Up to 4 Kegmenters

The Kegland Fermenter allows you to ferment and serve in the same vessel. It’s also pressure capable so you can ferment under pressure.

Hands on Review: Kegland Ball Lock Kegs!

Updated: November 13, 2024

Kegland, based in Australia, produces a broad array of homebrewing gear. fermenters, electric brewing systems, loads of draft stuff (including DuoTight!) and lots more.

It’s obvious these folks are homebrewers at heart, because they’ve come up some really innovative stuff. The other thing they’ve generally done is hit really good price points. There is a balance between cost, features and quality and they seem to be hitting a lot of bullseyes.

This is an in depth hands on look at Kegland’s 5 gallon ball lock keg.

What’s The Difference? Comparing AEB and AMCYL Ball Lock Kegs!

AEB and AMCYL manufacturer ball lock kegs, also called soda pre-mix tanks. Homebrewers use these for beer, cider and seltzer. Coffee shops use them for cold brew, Kombucha makers use them for kombucha and on and on.

A common question I see, or directly hear, is… what’s the difference between AMCYL and AEB?  It’s a great question. Both make new ball lock kegs, both go by abbreviated company names and both start with…. A.  Maybe they’re the same? This write up aims to answer the question and will give you a complete run down of what’s the same and what’s different.

Hands on Reviews of Both:

This post will give an overview of each keg with comparisons. If you want a deep dive into either one, I have in depth hands on reviews of both kegs.

AEB vs AMCYL Kegs, Compared…

Important Note: In this comparison, when two kegs are pictured, AEB kegs will always be on the left an AMCYL kegs will be on the right.

This is an in depth hands on look at Kegland’s 2.5 gallon ball lock keg.

Why a 2.5 Gallon Keg?

2.5 gallon kegs are great for splitting batches, small batch brewers, doing one-off beers from split from a 5 gallon batch… or for easily serving on the go.  Purge with CO2, fill from your tap and place in ice in a 5 gallon bucket…. whammo! 5 Gallon Ball Lock Cornelius Kegs – $46.74 + Free Ship Eligible, Hands on Review & Rebuild How-To

ball lock keg

Used five gallon ball lock Cornelius keg from MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

A great price on an non-rebuilt Cornelius keg. You can purchase the rebuild kit and replace the gaskets yourself (very easy job) to save some money. These Cornelius kegs could have residual soda syrup inside and will need to be cleaned. To totally rebuild the keg you should also consider a new relief valve and poppets (part number listed below). PBW works as a great cleaner for eating away sticky residual soda residue. Kegs are sold “as is”.

The body connnects on a keg are the metal posts where the quick disconnects attach too. They should be removed for cleaning and sanitizing before each use. Kegs can come with either 11/16″ body connects or 7/8″ body connects. We sell deep sockets for the removal of either one. So if you do not have these sockets at home and want to make sure you can disassemble these Cornelius kegs you may want to purchase both sockets below. Then you will always be covered as your keg collection grows.

If you want a great deal on a 4 pack of kegs, check out our KEG430A.
