Smaller home brews should still produce results that are just as tasty as larger batches, which is why this 5 Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle is an excellent addition to your home brew setup. This small 5 gallon brewing kettle is a great kettle for the beginning brewer to learn on, as it holds a manageable sized batch and it’s available for a very affordable price.
Although this brew kettle is quite economical, it’s also made of high quality 202 stainless steel that is anything but cheap. The 0.5-mm thick sides and bottom are more than thick enough for this amount of liquid, and the riveted stainless steel handles on the kettle’s body make it easy to carry even when filled. This 5 gallon kettle can safely hold up to 3 gallons of wort while boiling, making it the perfect size for extract brewing right in your own home!
Features:
0.5mm thick stainless sides and bottom
10″ H x 12.5″ D
Riveted Handles on Kettle Body
Kettle Lid with riveted handle
5 gallon full capacity (3 gallons while boiling)
Perfect size for Extract Brewing!

Charlie Essers (AKA Push Eject) has been a longtime friend of MoreBeer, The Brewing Network, and homebrewers in general. Dubbed “one of the nicest guys in homebrewing” by those who know him, Push wanted us to have this recipe that he brews whenever his father-in-law comes for a visit. Push says: “My family has been supportive of all the brewing gadgets and scattered projects including my “dark-beer-phobic” father-in-law. This recipe is an Americanized pilsner that I have evolved for him over the years. Sweeter than a standard pilsner, but still crisp and refreshing, I can’t keep this around long in the Summer months.” Push began brewing in 1999 after buying a starter homebrew kit as a bad joke for a friend who earned a DUI and getting one for himself as well on impulse at the register. After going all grain in 2002, it was clear that automation was a necessity in his process, and his love of brewing gadgets was born. His first stand was designed and built in 2003 and his first Wort-O-Matic control panel in 2006. These led to the launch of wortomatic.com and a close relationship with MoreBeer! and The Brewing Network. Try Push’s beer out and let him know what you think – Hopefully it keeps your father-in-law happy, too!

This is similar to my 24″ Stainless Whisk. That whisk is an easy upgrade that I generally recommend for all but small batch only brewers. Check out my Hands on Review of that great tool.
Note that this whisk measures in at 6″ smaller than the whisk I mentioned above and that it is from a different manufacturer.
Possible homebrew applications: Use on brew day in your mash tun and brew kettle. In the mash tun… a whisk can help to break up doughballs. In the brew kettle… Use to incorporate extract, stir the brew kettle or start a kettle whirlpool.

Hop Hunter IPA by Sierra Nevada brewing is the inspiration for this delicious recipe. Hop Gatherer is a Hop Hunter clone, which contains all of the same ingredients as the original beer, but gives you the option of what distilled oil you would like to use. We offer the kit with either Chinook or El Dorado farm distilled hop oil. Either way, this makes a tasty, easy drinking and highly aromatic IPA!
A bit about farm distilled hop oil: Distilled immediatley after picking, farm distilled hop oil gives you the bursting aroma provided by fresh hops. By distilling the oil at the farm, the distinct character of a “wet hop” beer is able to be replicated year round. The oil can be added post fermentation, typically at bottling. You can even add the oil directly to your glass! Be careful, it is VERY POTENT!

Liquid Gold! So smooth for a beer with an alcohol by weight of 7%! It leaves lots of classic phenolic flavor, but produces a very soft body without a high alcohol bite. Not that bitter, this golden beer is about a strong and complex malt body. It may take a goblet or two to grow on you, but once you acquire the taste…. some would say “beervana.” The malt extract for this kit is made entirely from German Pilsner Malt, giving it that classic European flavor.
