A relaxing vacation is only a pint glass away when you have this Tropical IPA on hand. After the SMaSH-ing success of our Mai Tai PA clone kit, Flamingos & Fronds, we decided to keep the island vibes going with a similar recipe featuring a new hop. Pineapples & Palms is centered around the incredibly fruity BRU-1™ hops, a varietal that is absolutely bursting with the sweet, fruity aroma of pineapple. Used for bittering, aroma, and dry hopping, BRU-1™ is an ideal choice for single hop beers. With no specialty malts in the mix, your taste buds will cut right to the headliner hop. In addition to the unmistakable pineapple character, you’ll pick up notes of pear, apple, and a hint of fresh cut grass. You’ve earned a break from life’s unrelenting hustle and bustle, if only for as long as there’s beer left in your glass.

Heat sticks help you… heat things. For homebrewing they are helpful for getting strike and sparge water up to temp and helping to more quickly achieve or maintain a boil. Depending on the heat stick and batch size, you could potentially use a heat stick as the sole source of heat from beginning to end.
Always use caution when handling hot items and when using water around electricity.
Make sure the components you use are compatible and rated for your intended application. Contact manufacturer with questions about suitability or a specific application. Always read and follow manufacturer directions.

Introducing MoreBeer!’s Flash Brewing Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home.
Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing Malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets and extracts for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you.

Barebottle Brewing Companys Torcido Mexican Style Lager from MoreBeer:
The most compelling stories always have a twist. Barebottle’s award-winning Torcido is a Mexican pilsner with a German Helles twist. Combining these styles results in a light and refreshing lager that would make even M. Night Shyamalan do a double take. Originally developed by Barebottle brewer John “Magic” Montes, Torcido took gold in the 2019 Great American Beer Fest and in turn became the inaugural inductee into the Viking Malt Hall of Fame. Brewed with Viking Pilsner, flaked corn, a dash of Carahell®, and hopped with two additions of Crystal and Saaz.
Barebottle Brewing Company was born in San Francisco, CA with the idea that craft brewing shouldn’t adhere to the strict guidelines of established beer styles. Founded by a trio of friends and former classmates, they continue to pay homage to their homebrewing roots by printing a scaled down version of their recipe on every label. If you ever see one of their creations out in the wild, we highly recommend that your buy it, drink it, and then brew it!
MoreBeer’s Kit of the Week offers a 20% discount on a select recipe for a limited time. Choose from all grain or extract versions while supplies last.
Shipping is also free to many US addresses with a qualifying $59 order

The next hot hop? This delicious Pale Ale is based on new experimental hop, HBC438, that has the unofficial name of Ron Mexico due to its native US neomexicanus hop heritage. This hop has enticing aromas of stone and tropical fruit, orange, mint, and herbal characteristics. Vinnie from Russian River Brewing (of Pliny fame) used this hop in an experimental beer brewed for the National Homebrewers Conference and also recently raved about this hop in a talk we attended.
The story of this hop is really unique. Traditionally hop breeders finish the testing of experimental hops internally and then release to the commercial market. Now they are turning the tables and trying something new! HBC 438 is being released EXCLUSIVELY to the Homebrewing community first. Then in the future, as more is grown, they will release it to commercial brewers. So the tables are flipped – Pro brewers will be reading your reviews and seeing what you thought of the hottest new hop.
What is also cool is that all proceeds from the sales of these hops go to ALS.net and help fund the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the world’s largest non-profit biotech focused entirely on ALS Research.
Our take on a Ron Mexico pale includes some acid malt and carapils for body, crystal 60 for color and richness, and Rahr Two-Row for a great malty bas
