Camlock QDs at PFD!  I’ve used ProFlow Dynamics Quick Disconnects on my kettles, mash tun, pumps and tubing for a longtime.  They have worked great for me.  I put male connectors kettles, mash tuns and pumps and use female connectors for tubing.  Standardizing on this (or the opposite) means you can use tubing as jumpers and always have the availability to connect your gear.

These are made from Stainless Steel and are available in lots of configurations.  Those are classified by Type and Size.  Type may mean something in “commercial cam lock fitting circles”, but I was initially confused by this.  Types are akin to model numbers.  For example, Type A is Female NPT to Male Cam and Groove.

Convert DuoTight to Barb Fittings

Kegland’s DuoTight Fittings are designed to work with EVABarrier Double Wall Tubing.  They offer quick, reliable connections, easy implementation, a variety of fitting options and feature amazing versatility.  They’re also, generally speaking, very well priced.  DuoTights are push to connect fittings and require no tubing clamps.

Valuebrew has DuoTight 8mm compatible fitting that converts DuoTight to 1/4″ barb.  The product description says the fitting should work with most 3/16″ tubing as well.

Recently Announced: 

If you’ve read Homebrew Finds for long you’ve no doubt seen Valuebrew’s Blue and Green Custom Color O-Rings in food grade silicone. These are featured in our very popular keg rebuild step by step.

Valuebrew has just introduced Gray and Black o-rings. As the picture indicates these are designed to match standard gray and black keg QDs.  These have become standard colors on ball lock, pin lock (usually the bottom portion of the QD) and even recently released Kegland QDs (center portion).

The gray and black are also made from food grade silicone and also available in bulk quantities.

Valuebrew has generally struggled to keep things in stock, however, I have no specification indication that availability will be an issue on these.

These are valved disconnects. When they are disengaged a shut off mechanism stops the flow of gas or liquid.

Kegland’s DuoTight Fittings are designed to work with EVABarrier Double Wall Tubing.  They offer quick, reliable connections, easy implementation, a variety of fitting options and feature amazing versatility.  They’re also, generally speaking, very well priced.  DuoTights are push to connect fittings and require no tubing clamps.

When DuoTights first came out, the solution for connecting kegs to EVABarrier was using an MFL QD + DuoTight Flare fitting. That worked just fine and is still the only option available to pin lock keg users.

A while back native DuoTight Ball Lock QDs were introduced. Those are outstanding. Check out My Review

I’m excited to announce another Kegland innovation.  DuoTight Ball Lock QDs + Flow Control!

These will allow DuoTight and EVABarrier users to easily dial in resistance without long lengths of tubing.

As of this posting, I’m only seeing these available for international sellers on eBay. Hoping they will make it stateside in the near future.
