The down side is that smaller items can sell a lot and make the results unhelpful. For example, when you buy 2 row, you may buy 20 lbs. That counts as 20 items and makes 2 row show up high in the list. To illustrate that, the current top selling thing is an ice pack for yeast. Lots of yeast gets sold and lots of ice packs.

This unit has two powerful NdFeB button magnets in the 12 VDC stir motor, which is controlled by a precision voltage regulator for easy speed adjustment. The RPMs of the drive motor are limited, so the motor will not “throw” the stir bar, yet it provides enough to get a good vortex going. A low voltage (110v), plug-in wall transformer provides power to the unit. The black plastic case dimensions are 6″ x 4″ x 2″, large enough to accommodate a 2000 mL flask . A Teflon coated 1″ x 5/16″ stir bar is included

(2″ stir bars are too long for this device, while we have had success using the 2″ bar, it will be “thrown” from the magnet when the motor is at high speeds, “why would you turn your stir plate to higher speeds?” you ask. We aren’t sure, but the coffee at McDonald’s is hot whether the word “HOT” is printed on the cup or not)

A “keeper” magnet is also supplied to lock the stir bar in place while the
yeast is pitched, so the stir bar won’t end up in your fermenter!

Why a Stir Plate? The constant motion of a stir plate integrates oxygen, puts yeast in constant contact with nutrients, relieves built up CO2 and generally helps yeast to grow more rapidly.  That also means smaller starters.
