Cannular Pro Semi-Auto Bench Top Can Seamer

Cannular Pro Semi-Auto Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Cannular Pro is a semi-automatic can seamer that is easy to use, reliable, and beautifully simple.

Whether you’re a brewery looking to offer canned beer to go or a homebrewer wanting to keep your creations fresh and fully protected from light, the Cannular is the answer. This bench top unit is one of the most compact and easy to use can seamers you’ll find. The Cannular only requires one person to operate, and each can takes roughly 3 seconds to seam. With a two-person team, one filling and one seaming, the Cannular becomes a suitable option for nano breweries doing small canning production runs.

Cannular Pro vs. Manual Unit
This new Semi-Auto Pro model will guarantee you get a consistent seaming process every time. Unlike the less expensive manual can seamer, this machine has no lever for the seaming operation, meaning it’s even easier for the operator to seam the can consistently and will not vary on how hard the operator is pulling the lever.

Another major difference is that the Cannular’s Pro table spacer is specially designed to work with both 500ml (16.9 oz) and 330ml (11.2 oz) Can Fresh Aluminum Cans right out of the box. Unlike the manual model that requires a secondary table spacer for use with 330ml cans, the Pro model features an adjustable platform, allowing you to raise or lower the table spacer depending on what size can you’re seaming. We have tested standard 202 cans and have been able to achieve good seals with proper adjustments. It is necessary to adjust the table height to ensure you have the appropriate amount of pressure applied when the can lift is raised.

Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate, and the semi-automatic pro model makes canning beer even easier. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:

  • Place lid atop the can and place the can on the table spacer
  • Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
  • Press the seaming operation button then wait for the can to stop spinning
  • Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can
  • That’s all there is to it!

Construction:
The Cannular was designed to be compact, durable, and safe to operate in a wet environment. The platform assembly is made from 304 grade stainless steel, so no matter how messy your canning gets, there’s no need to worry about rusting or degradation. The body of the unit is made from hammered sheet metal and fastened together with stainless steel screws. Rubber feet help keep the unit from slipping and sliding while in use. In addition, the Cannular features built-in brackets near the feet so you have the option to mount the machine to your counter or benchtop. The Cannular runs off of 24V DC power via the Anderson socket located on the back. This lower voltage was chosen specifically to make the unit as safe to use in a wet environment as possible.

Power:
As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24V DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. When purchasing the unit, you have the option of pairing it with either a power supply with 110V plug (CAN101), or with a 6 ft. long cord with Anderson plug and alligator clips (CAN102). The power supply is straight forward, and allows you to plug the unit into a standard 110V power socket. The alligator clips give you the option to power the unit from a battery, and can even be used with an 18V cordless power drill battery. This is certainly the most affordable option for powering the Cannular, and we’ve found that upwards of 200 cans can be seamed on a single battery charge.

Why Cans?
So why can when you can bottle? There’s no doubt that canning has become a more and more popular format for packaging beer among craft breweries over the last several years, and with good reason. Aluminum cans aren’t just more environmentally friendly than bottles, since cans require less energy to transport and recycle, they’re also much better at protecting the quality of the beer. Whereas bottles allow in light, which leads to skunking, aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There’s still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans, on the other hand, form a much better seal that can prevent these issues. Of course, it’s important to make sure that the can is purged of oxygen before being filled, and that the can lid is sealed atop foam to eliminate oxygen from the headspace. Aside from all the “sciency stuff”, cans are just plain safer. Take your beer backpacking, camping, or poolside and rest assured that broken glass won’t ruin your day!

Specifications:
Power: 250W 24V DC
Rated Speed: 3300 RPM
Gearbox Ratio: 9.8 : 1
Dimensions: 16″ L x 9.5″ W x 21″ H
Weight: 40 lbs
Splash guard not included
Please note the pictured splash guard is not included with the seamer. Please see CAN106 to add the splash guard to your order.

Please note: When you receive your cannular the rollers have been set and tested at the factory. They should not need adjustment for 100,000 cans. The table, however, comes unadjusted and getting it set up correctly is very important to getting a proper seal. Cannular’s test show that a .4mm (.015″) actual overlap is all that is needed to seal to 90 PSI. The proper table tension takes a little practice and expect to waste a few cans getting it dialed in. Once you learn the proper tension re-adjusting it is very quick and easy. You want the tension to be tight but not so tight as to dent the can. Use cans at your fill height with water for proper tension adjustment.

Works with Crowlers!

The Cannular Pro can be adapted for use with 32 oz Crowlers (Ball 300 can/end). To seam Ball 300 end/lid type oversized aluminium cans you will need to purchase the required Chuck for 1L (32 oz) Crowlers separately.

MoreBeer has a limited number of refurbished Cannular Pro Can Seamers available at discounted pricing.

Pacific Coast Pilsner | West Coast Pilsner

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • West Coast Pilsner combines the crisp, refreshing crushability of a Pilsner with the hoppy wallop of a West Coast IPA
  • Includes Citra®, Amarillo®, Riwaka, and Mosaic® hops
  • Estimated ABV: 5.4%
  • Estimated IBUs: 30
  • Makes 5 gallons of finished beer

The lines between clean, crushable lagers and hop-forward IPAs continue to blur at breweries and taprooms across the country. Whether it’s a hoppy lager or a Cold IPA that’s flying out of the tap handle, one thing is certain: craft beer drinkers love the combination of a crisp, refreshing lager with the heaps of new world hop character that you’d expect from a modern IPA. Pacific Coast Pilsner is our take on one of the styles within this ever-rising sub category of beers—the West Coast Pilsner. The malt bill consists of nearly 100% pilsner malt extract for a super-clean base and bright straw color in the glass. And now for the West Coast spin. Rather than a dash of noble hops, this recipe includes a healthy addition of Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere hops in the boil, whirlpool, and dry hopping. The end result is a true “best of both worlds” beer. Light and easy-drinking, not too bitter, and teeming with citrusy, tropical hop character.

  • Makes 5 gallons
  • Estimated Original Gravity:1.045-50
  • SRM (Color Range): 3
  • IBUs: 30
  • Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.4%

Torpedo Stainless Steel Ball Lock Disconnect with… 1/4 in. MPT Threads! – For Spunding Builds

Torpedo Ball Lock Disconnect Gas In (Stainless) - 1/4 in. MPTMoreBeer’s Torpedo Ball Lock Beverage Disconnects are available in both beverage and gas configurations and are… stainless steel! They will, of course, work with MoreBeer’s Torpedo kegs, but they will also work with any ball lock Corny Keg.

1/4″ MPT Threaded QD!

The lineup contains an innovative and unique offering. a 1/4″ MPT threaded variation.  Why, oh, why would you want this?  Well one great reason is a Spunding Valve Build.

To build what we call a Style 1 Build you need to connect the tee to an MFL QD, a swivel JIC to NPT fitting is required. Those are tough to find in stainless steel and usually… very expensive.

This Ball Lock Keg QD is stainless steel and eliminates the need for the JIC to NPT fitting. That’s a big cost savings. Beyond that, it’s a simplification of the build. One less item to buy, adjust and maintain.

Note that I’m seeing one review that says this doesn’t seal well. The thing I would say is that this is NPT thread that’s going to need teflon tape.

Torpedo Ball Lock Disconnect Gas In (Stainless) – 1/4 in. MPT KEG735

Also at MoreBeer: Adjustable Stainless Gas Pressure Relief – 1/4 in. MPT

What’s a Spunding Valve? A Spunding Valve allows you to maintain a set pressure.  If pressure in the vessel exceeds the set point, it is expelled.  It generally consists of an adjustable PRV valve, a tee, a gauge and a way to connect to your keg.  Read lots and lots more about Spunding Valves, ways to use them and different build options on our Spunding Valve Resource Post

March High Flow Homebrew Pump – on sale for $219.99, TODAY Only

March Pump - Polysulphone H315HF

March Pump – Polysulphone

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The History of MoreBeer! & March
Many years ago MoreBeer! worked with March Pumps to release what is now the standard pump in the homebrewing community, their model 809 (our H315) with a polysulfone head and 6′ cord with plug. Thousands and thousands of these pumps have been sold to homebrewers.

The New Design
Now, with a slight design modification, the new model nearly eliminates past cavitation issues (where the impeller spins in an air pocket and no liquid moves). We’ve been testing/using the pump with our BrewSculptures for several years now and are extremely happy with the results, so much so that we are completely replacing the H315 with the high flow model.

Still Works the Same
The new model comes with all the great features of the original – magnetic drive, handles flow restriction, okay for boiling temperatures, 6′ cord with plug, food-grade materials in contact with the liquid, 1/2″ ports, etc. – but now features a different slightly higher flow rate with less issues of cavitation.

The magnetic drive in a March pump acts as a clutch allowing the user to put back pressure on the pump to slow down flow. Since it is magnetic drive, it is not self-priming, you must put the pump below the level of the liquid source. This pump cannot be run dry.

Additional Notes
To restrict flow place a ball valve on the out flow of this pump.
This is the pump we install and use on all of our BrewSculpture brewing systems.
We stock polysulfone replacement heads, H317, in case the threads are damaged.
If you are looking for a pump for a larger home brewery or small nano brewery you can also look at our H325 Nano Brewery pump from March.

Features List
Included bracket for mounting
6′ power cord with plug wired in for easy use
115V – 50/60Hz
Maximum flow of just over 7 gpm (at zero head)
Maximum head of 18 feet (at zero flow)
1/2″ mpt fittings on both inlet and outlet.
Materials in contact with solution: Polysulfone, 316 stainless steel, silicone rubber, Ryton and Teflon
1/25 hp, continuous-duty, thermal overload protected, single phase 1.4 Amp motor
Motor is fan cooled
Will handle internal pressures to 50 psi.
Max temp rating: 250F
Face unscrews and rotates at 90 degree intervals to adjust to your application.

Save on Ss BrewTech Brew Cubes!

About Ss Brewtech Brew Cubes:

The Brew Cubes started as a side project for the Engineering team. We wanted a modular system for testing and prototyping. The Brew Cubes gained popularity internally, and we decided we had to make them available to homebrewers.

Modular Design
The Brew Cubes started as a side project for the engineering team. We needed a modular system for testing and prototyping a variety of homebrew equipment configurations without fabricating custom brew stands for each build. They quickly gained popularity internally for their modularity and flexibility.

The Brew Cubes are designed to grow alongside the brewer’s equipment needs and skill level; there’s really no right or wrong way to build a brewery, and that’s where the modular design of the Brew Cubes shines.

The core of the Brew Cube is the base kit, as shown in the exploded view. From there, any variety of shelves and accessories can be added on. We’ll have many of the core accessories available immediately, but we view this as a long term platform and intend to introduce thoughtful additions to the product line over the coming months and years.

Unlimited Flexibility
From stands and carts to parts racks and shelves, flexibility is at the heart of the Brew Cube’s design. Every brewer and brewery has different needs, that’s why there’s no right or wrong way to use Brew Cubes. Designed to bolt together, it’s easy to string three or more cubes next to each other, or add optional shelving, leg extensions, and peg walls for near-endless customization.

Pro Inspiration for the Home Brewer

When designing the perfect homebrew rig, we took inspiration from some of the best and most sought after pro features our team has been engineering into our larger brewhouses. From the dual pump architecture to the newly patented valve tree, Brew Cubes can unlock the full potential of your Ss Brewtech equipment.

Alternative Product PhotoAlternative Product Photo Taprite Dual Gauge CO2 Regulator

More about the T742HP

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

When it comes to CO2 regulators, we’ve tried them all. This quality unit by Taprite is our favorite on the market. It’s no wonder this regulator is trusted by so many breweries and beer bars—it represents the best quality at a great price. Available in a standard, single-body model, as well as a dual-body model which allows you to send different pressures to two separate kegs from the same CO2 tank!

The things you’ll love about this regulator are:

  • The large front knob makes pressure adjustment tool-free, easy & fast.
  • The built-in gasket where the regulator connects to the CO2 tank eliminates the constant replacement of fiber washers every time you change out your tank.
  • The barbed outlet features a one-way on/off valve which prevents backflow and protects the regulator’s internals.
  • The gauges are easy to read. The low pressure gauge reads from 0 to 60 psi. The optional available gauge cage is the best on the market.
  • This is the T742HP model, where the HP stands for high performance; it won’t freeze up when multiple taps are running at once.
  • Best of all is the consistent pressure regulation. With many regulators the pressure can ‘creep’ up over time. This unit holds the pressure rock steady. No drifting.

Although the product page doesn’t say it, as of this posting, Taprite’s about page says that.. “Taprite products are proudly made in the USA”.  Check site for current country of origin claims.
