Keg Dip Tube O-Rings - Food Safe Silicone

The vast majority of ball lock kegs use a standard size dip tube o-ring. We’ve found that some Old Ale brand ball lock kegs – sold from Northern Brewer, Adventures in Homebrewing, Midwest Supplies and Austin Homebrew Supply – require a larger size dip tube o-ring. We’re happy to announce we have an option for owners of these kegs!

Note that we’re not 100% sure this applies to every Old Ale brand keg. Our best guess is that the product changed over time so this affects some but not all Old Ale brand kegs. We recommend getting these along with some standard size dip tube o-rings. That way you’ll be covered either way.

Hands on Review: Valuebrew Stainless Steel Ball Lock Jumpers – Works with Liquid AND Gas – Back in stock + Limited Time DEAL

Hands on Review Stainless Steel Ball Lock Jumpers from Valuebrew

This ball lock jumper features stainless steel construction and food grade silicone post o-rings.  It allows you to connect two keg lines together via ball lock keg QDs. This is handy for at least a few uses, the most popular one probably being cleaning multiple kegerator lines at the same time.

Valuebrew’s jumper is unique because of the custom color, food grade o-rings and because … it works with both liquid and ball lock jumpers.

In the package. As of this posting, this comes in singles with the option to add a second on for a reduced cost. Check the product page to see if that’s still available.A look at the jumper. It has a nice heft to it and feels generally well builtA look down the jumper. You’ll notice a stainless steel bar. This jumper doesn’t have traditional poppets. Instead these bars take their place enabling connected ball lock QDs to open when connected. This is actually a really good feature because it means the jumper is open to the air when unused and can be clean, dried and sanitized.

Alternate Uses

Drain Keg Lines

The other thing this design allows you to do is connect just one QD to open up a line to drain. Let’s say you wanted to clear the liquid from a kegerator line. Attach this to let air in, elevate the QD/jumper and open the faucet. No need to remove or disassemble the QD.

Flush Keg Lines and Transfer Tubing with CO2

Place this on a gas QD and attach to another gas QD (gas QD to gas QD) to flush gas lines. Attach to a liquid QD (gas QD to liquid QD) to flush serving lines

Flush Buckets, Compatible Fermenters and Kegs with CO2

Place this on a gas QD to open it up to assist with flushing compatible containers with CO2

A Valuebrew Exclusive! Stainless Steel Ball Lock Jumper with our Food Safe Silicone O-Rings.

Use to connect multiple Ball Lock keg lines without disassembling. This allows you to clean more quickly and easily and allows you to clean QDs along with draft lines.

Works with BOTH liquid and gas posts. This allows you to jump from liquid to gas to do things like purging a keg from top to bottom using the liquid out post.

Note that o-ring color may vary, but you’ll always receive our food grade, silicone ball lock o-rings. Most likely, you’ll receive the pictured custom blue o-rings but we may substitute if we run out of stock. For gas QD connections, we recommend only short term connections as we cannot guarantee a leak free connection. Pictured QDs are not included.

EPDM for Homebrewers!

Valuebrew has announced the availability of bulk EPDM o-rings for homebrewers.  EPDM is a favorite of many pro brewers for certain applications. Until now, these have not been available to homebrewers, or at least easily available. EPDM has some real advantages over silicone. One of the big ones is a much lower permeability. That means they seal better and since they’re less porous they are more resistant to absorbing off-smells and off-flavors.

They are FDA Rated for food use and NSF61 certified. As of this posting, post, dip tube, lid and internal QD options are available in 10, 25 and 50 count options. Valuebrew has struggled mightily with availability and they’ve already made some indications of potential issues with new EPDM offerings. In particular, the lid o-ring description says they received a small shipment.

Valuebrew has struggled with availability on some of their options.  This has been particularly true of their keg lid o-rings. As of this update stock is showing low for EPDM lid.

Blue and Green are meant to be remembered by “Blue for Beer” and “Green for Gas”. All options are made from FDA rated silicone. They’ve also recently introduced ball lock jumpers and universal poppets (equipped with their food grade silicone poppets.

  • Valuebrew has struggled with availability on some of their options.
  • For the last several days they haven’t been accepting new orders. Talking with them they periodically do this to be able to keep up with fulfilling orders.
