3 Tap Draft Beer Tower from Adventures in Homebrewing.  Description via AIH: “When you receive your tower the weight is the first thing you will notice. This 3″ triple faucet tower is made with quality in mind. Quality is not the only advantage of buying from Adventures in Homebrewing, we will also customize the tower for your needs. Whether you need a pin lock and a sanke or a ball lock and a pin ock we will be sure to prepare your tower for you! The tower comes standard with 5′ of beer line and MFL fittings for homebrew corny kegs. Switching between commercial and corny kegs? Select the MFL screw-on barb and add the commercial adapter. The screw-on barb can be attached to your ball/pin lock MFL disconnect or to the commercial adapter which replaces the standard tail piece on the sanke!”

Tower body is made of 304 stainless steel.  Comes with 3 standard faucet handles, tubing, MFL fittings, mounting hardware and gasket and neoprene washer.  You get to choose you your faucets (additional cost) – choose from chrome, Perlick and CM Becker or choose none.  Intertap faucets are not an option on the product page, but AIH carries them so you could order separately.  You also get a choice of disconnect types and you can add on a draft tower cooler

As of this posting, this is marked down to $119.99.  That’s a great deal in and of itself.  Stacks With: AIH is discounting most things by 13%.  This sale works with this tower and makes it just$104.39.  This is an outstanding deal.  For some pricing clarity, we ran this way back in 2012 for $134.99.  The stainless, three faucet tower itself is still $104.39 as the post was originally titled.  However, QDs are a required option.  Ball Lock QDs are $4.99 ($4.34 with the 13% off).  If you choose three ball lock QDs this comes out to $117.41 with the two stacking sales.  Check product page for current price, description and availability.

Itc-308 Dual Stage, Pre-Wired Digital Temperature Controller by Inkbird

Dual stage means that the Itc-308 can control both a heating and cooling device.  Alternatively, it can control a heating or a cooling device.  This controller displays in Fahrenheit and Centigrade.  Dual Display shows both measured and set temperature.

Use to control fermentation or kegerator temperatures.  I have a similar (although not identical) controller from Inkbird.  The base unit is the same (ITC-308), the temperature sensors are different.  Check out my [Hands on Review] of that unit.

Cold does not rise. You will find that a beer tower elevated above a refrigerator will always remain warmer than the refrigerator, resulting in initial pours from the kegerator that are warm and foamy, followed by colder pours once you have dispensed a beer or two. At home this is a real problem, unless you pour beers in quick succession. This is the only kegerator to include a tower cooling fan as standard equipment, and also feature a fan on/off switch on the front digital control panel.

When it is time to pour a glass, the Series 4 includes a handy glass holder inside to keep your beer glasses chilled. Just open the door and grab an ice cold glass and dispense. The beauty of the KegLand Series 4 is the extended range thermostat included. Unlike kegerators with standard 30° to 50° temperature ranges, the Mark 4 can be adjusted easily with the front panel digital display from 26° to 82° F (ambient temperature permitting), which means you can also use your kegerator as a fermentation chamber for ales in summer, a small refrigerator for food items, or even a wine cellar.

The drip tray rests on top of the unit, and can be removed for easy cleaning. This simple two piece design cleans up quick in your sink, and eliminates the need to clean a sticky drip tray on the unit.

Included with all models are a a C02 bottle mounting bracket, removeable refrigerator shelf, integral tower cooling fan. You select the beer tower/faucet option that is right for you, and a free KegLand MK4 Dual Gauge Regulator is included.

Setup is easy with Duotight connections included for everything from the faucet shanks to the included regulator. These make it easy to connect and disconnect gas and beer lines, and eliminate the need for hose clamps. As noted below, you will need additional parts depending on how many faucets you get, and if you want to dispense home brew or a commercial keg.

Note that kegerators need 4″ of clearance on both sides when installing so they do not overheat, so this model cannot be installed flush into a countertop with no side clearance like a dishwasher.

Introducing: Mini Flex Compact Modular Regulators

Mini Flex Regulators

Keg Connection has introduced the Mini Flex Compact Modular Regulator.  This is similar to some of the compact regulators we’ve seen in the pack, but a lot more flexibility.  You can use this with a standard CGA320 type tank, 74g cartridges or 16 gram cartridges.

We’ve covered mini regulators on HBF in the past. The general benefits uses are…

  • Portable Serving: As an on-the-go regulator.
  • Backup – I’m out of CO2 and I want to pour a beer! Use as a backup if your main CO2 tank runs out.  Swap out the CO2 line for this regulator and you’ve got a temporary solution to keep you up and going until you can get more CO2.
  • Serve Beers at Alternate Carbonation Levels: This regulator goes up to 30 PSI.  That’s plenty to serve high carbonation beers like Hefeweizens and Belgians.  If you don’t have a dual or triple pressure setup, you could use this regulator to serve beers at higher pressures.  I would not suggest force carbonation with this unit.  The 74g cartridges would be pricey. You could carbonate using your existing regulator or just as easily naturally carbonate with priming sugar.  After the beer is completely carbonated, use this to serve at the higher pressure.

Note that this is set up for commercial kegs, but you should be able to easily convert it to homebrew kegs.  You could either cut the lines and swap out the the sanke couplers for pin or ball lock connectors or use something like this from Brew Hardware.
