This Duotight fitting is designed to go through the wall of a tank, housing, or wall, similar to a pass through shank, so you can run EVABarrier tubing from one side to the other. Compatible with EVABarrier 9.5 mm OD tubing (D1719).

With the lock nuts in place, there is approximately 1″ of pass through threading.

Duotight fittings are high-quality push-in fittings that seal tight and offer superior sealing capacity due to the double O-ring sealing design.

High Performance Double O-Ring Design:
The secret to Duotight’s superior sealing performance comes from the fact that they use not one, but two high-quality EPDM O-rings. The double O-ring means they have literally twice the sealing surface when compared with other push-in fittings. This makes them more reliable and significantly reduces the chance of leakage.

The double O-ring system also means that tubing can be bent at a much tighter radius without causing leaking issues, which can be an issue with other fittings. This combination of factors makes Duotight the most reliable push-in fittings on the market.

EPDM offers excellent chemical resistance for a longer life span. When compared with silicone and vinyl, EPDM has much better gas transmission rates, better wear resistance, and is BPA-free.

No Clamps Necessary!
We recommend cutting your tubing straight, not on an angle, to ensure the line forms a complete seal. To remove the fitting simply push in the collet and the hose can be removed.

Stacking Deals on Recently Announced Bulk EPDM O-Rings – Low Permeability, Less Oxygen & Off-Flavors

Valuebrew has announced the availability of bulk EPDM o-rings for homebrewers.  EPDM is a favorite of many pro brewers for certain applications. Until now, these have not been available to homebrewers, or at least easily available. EPDM has some real advantages over silicone. One of the big ones is a much lower permeability. That means they seal better and since they’re less porous they are more resistant to absorbing off-smells and off-flavors.

They are FDA Rated for food use and NSF61 certified. As of this posting, post, dip tube, lid and internal QD options are available in 10, 25 and 50 count options. Valuebrew has struggled mightily with availability and they’ve already made some indications of potential issues with new EPDM offerings. In particular, the lid o-ring description says they received a small shipment.

LalBrew Farmhouse™ is a non-diastatic hybrid that has been selected to make saison-style and farmhouse style beers. This product is the result of the research and development work of Renaissance Yeast in Vancouver BC, Canada. The Renaissance research team used classical and non-GMO methods to remove the STA1 gene, responsible for the diastatic activity of Saison yeasts. Removing this gene means the yeast will be less likely to continue to break down proteins and ferment once packaged, giving a stable carbonation. Care was taken to retain normal brewing sugar utilization to produce dry saisons. Additionally, the patented technology from the University of California at Davis ensures that the strain will not produce sulfurous favors, therefore enhancing the saison yeast aroma characteristics.

P.B.W. is a buffered alkaline detergent that has been proven to be more than an effective substitute for caustic soda cleaners. Because of its unique formulation of buffers and mild alkalis, it is safe on skin as well as soft metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and on plastics. P.B.W. uses active oxygen to penetrate carbon or protein soils and is not effected by hard water. The oxygen also helps in reducing B.O.D. and C.O.D. in wastewater, which is an added environmental benefit.

P.B.W. has been formulated as a C.I.P. cleaner and is very effective in removing protein soils found on brew kettles, fermenters, conditioning tanks, filters and all packaging areas. The concentrations to remove these soils are typically in the 1% range. However, due to soil and water conditions this concentration will vary. To help in hard water areas P.B.W. has been formulated with enough chelators to tolerate hard water over 17 grains.P.B.W. is an excellent choice as a soak cleaner because it does not require excessive heat as do most caustic based cleaners. This product has cleaned brass and copper filters, and industrial aluminum surfaces successfully.

You’ll find many uses for PBW outside of the brewing world. Use it to soak grease from cookie sheets and grills or anything else you can think of!

Our pledge to you… Let’s face it, the stainless pieces in most universal replacement poppets should last a long, long time. How about the o-rings? Not so much… lost, broken, cracked, off smell. I use universal style poppets exclusively when rebuilding kegs. Finding the right OEM specific replacement poppets can be a chore. Beyond finding the right part number, these can be prohibitively expensive. Paying $10 to $14, or more, for an OEM poppet isn’t fun. In fact, if you really had to pay that, it may not even make sense to keep the keg.

I’ve long advocated to tossing OEM o-rings immediately. You don’t know what they’re made of, and you can’t get replacements. Keep your draft system dialed in with this regulator gas board for Duotight In-Line Regulators. The gas board can hold up to six regulators, allowing you to monitor and adjust the pressure going to each keg. In the example photo, the high pressure from the gas cylinder is fed to the regulator on the left, and then stepped down from there with the lowest pressure line in the right-most position. The holes for wall mounting the board and the holes for mounting the regulators are pre-drilled for easy installation. Made from food-grade polypropylene plastic.

Regulators, fittings, labels, and mounting hardware are not included.

For a fully rigged gas board, we recommend the following parts:

6 x Inline Regulators
10 x Rigid 8mm Joiners
5 x Duotight 8mm Tee Pieces
1 x Duotight 8mm Elbow

 

This allows you to easily mount up to 6 x Duotight In-Line Regulators.  Those regulators allow you to easily (and cheaply) set individual pressures and carbonation levels.
