CornyKeg 12 Gallon Ball Lock kegs have one strong tubular handle welded to the top. The keg itself is 304 stainless steel and comes with a pull ring relief valve in the lid. The opening on these kegs have the monster mouth size lid and opening. These are brand new kegs and have never had anything in them. These kegs can be stacked on top of each other even with the connectors installed. Great for your big batch brews or larger batch bar and restaurant cocktail kegs.

It was also designed to be super user friendly. Want to increase your temperature? Press the up button. No more complicated parameters to setup; we’ve already done that hard work for you. The unit has a small footprint, moves around your brewery easily thanks to the included casters and can chill up to four fermenters!

This beast has a large reservoir which provides plenty of cooling power and with quick connect glycol lines, it’s easy to add all those fermenters with just a push of the tube.

Please Read:

1. You may want to adjust the differential of the included Dixell XR03CX controller. The differential is the amount of time the control waits after cooling to the target temperature before restarting the compressor. A higher differential gives you a wider temperature range and less wear on the compressor, while a lower differential makes for a very narrow temperature with more wear on the compressor. This is done by programming the temperature control on the front panel. This commercial grade centigrade control is very versatile and will let you fine tune your refrigerator to your specifications, but not very intuitive. Click here for a manual. Note that the unit has a fahrenheit mode, but we recommend it is not used, and that you keep the unit in centigrade for best performance.

2. This is a commercial grade appliance with a high level of cooling performance. The powerful fans in this unit are louder than the smaller Series X Kegerators

3. These commercial grade fridges have been handcrafted and may have some light cosmetic scratches or dings/dents which is normal

4. This unit is free standing and should not be built in to a countertop to prevent overheating.

5. This unit does not have a plug for the beer tower. You will need to purchase a beer tower to plug the top tower hole. All our Nukatap towers will fit.

If you want a quick and easy way to take gravity readings during the brewing process, then a refractometer is the tool for the job. Taking hydrometer readings during the brew tends to be a time-consuming process, and by the time you get a reading it may be too late to react. This is because you need to take a large sample and cool it to get an accurate reading. A refractometer allows you take instant gravity readings, with just one drop, at any point during the boil, or even during the run off of the sparge during an all-grain brew. These ‘during the process’ readings allow you to add more water or boil longer so you can attain exactly the gravity you desire.

Traditional refractometers without ATC are calibrated to work at 68°F. The ATC function allows you to use the refractometer in an ambient temperature range of 50-86°F (10-30°C). Since your sample is just one drop, and will quickly adjust to the temperature of the refractometer, the temperature of the sample is irrelevant. This unit also comes with a manual calibration knob that is secured with a lock nut. To calibrate place one drop of distilled water on the testing platform and adjust to zero if necessary. The LED light is a handy feature that helps illuminate the sample and make the scale easier to read.

For me, getting a refractometer was one of those upgrades that made a lot of difference.  With a refractometer you need a sample size of two drops.  I figured that this would pay for itself in beer savings alone.  I also had just broken my hydrometer and came to the realization that hydrometers are made of breakable glass that can break! 🙂
