From William’s Brewing: “Our annual William’s Holiday Ale is now available. This has been a crowd pleaser since 1994, and is a gently hopped honey brown ale with hints of orange peel and clove.”
From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:
Since 1994, we have produced a spiced Holiday Ale every year for the Fall and Winter Holiday seasons. The current kit is based on a formulation we first perfected in 1999, and by popular demand, we have settled on this formulation ever since. A spiced honey brown ale, our Holiday Ale is spiced with orange peel, allspice and other spices. The spices balance the sweetness of the honey, and the resulting brown ale has a rich honey malt character and delicate bitterness.
Alcohol: 5.8%, IBU’s 35 Includes 9 lbs. of our blended malt extract and honey, mixed spices, flavoring hops, 125 ml of liquid ale yeast, and corn sugar for carbonation. Makes 5 gallons with a starting gravity of at least 1.058
This is an annual limited edition kit. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Adjustable relief valve installs on standard ball lock keg posts
Use with any ball lock keg to control flow during closed pressure transfers
Integrated pressure gauge can be swapped out with a digital gauge or large face dial gauge for easier, more accurate readings
Adjustable black cap can be swapped out for color coded PRVs with a fixed pressure
Low-profile design only measures 1.75″ in height
This easy to use and compact pressure relief valve is super handy for keg transfers. Using a ball lock quick disconnect as the main body, the valve easily snaps onto ball lock keg posts. Adjustable relief valves are a great way to limit oxygen exposure and regulate flow during closed keg transfers, The included gauge reads from 0-30 PSI and can be swapped out with a digital gauge or large face dial gauge for easier, more accurate readings. The black pull ring cap on the other end can be rotated for adjustments, or swapped to a range of color coded PRVs for a fixed pressure.
This low-profile option only measures 1.75″ in height. It works right out of the box but has several upgrade options as shown in the images.
Warning: Never swap out the valve’s standard PRV with a color coded PRV that exceeds the pressure rating of your vessel.
Features:
Duotight fitting where the gauge attaches
This allows for upgrading the valve with a digital gauge or larger analog gauge
Manual pull ring pressure relief
This allows for you to not only adjust the pressure with the black rotary knob but also use the ring pull to instantly release pressure if you want to release manually
Option for several color coded PRVs to be used (see below)
Yellow – 17 psi
Red – 35 psi
Green – 65 psi
Gray – 100 psi
KegLand Part Number: KL29438
This is a gas side QD with an integrated PRV. This allows you to control pressure transfers.
It features an analog 0-30 PSI gauge, but it can be upgraded to a digital gauge.

NY Cascade 023™ Hops | Citrus, Tropical, Floral | Ultra High Thiol | T-90 Hop Pellets
via MoreBeer
From the hop description, check product page for current description, price and availability:
NY Cascade 023™ is a powerhouse of flavors for thiolized beers thanks to the special terroir of New York State
With a higher bound thiol precursor count than typical Cascade, 023™ has huge flavor and aroma potential when used in tandem with a thiolized yeast strain
Highly recommended for Mash Hopping. Maximize flavor and aromas while minimizing bitterness
When used with thiolized yeast, flavors are noted to be tropical, red berry, and melon
When not used with thiolized yeast, flavors are noted to be citrus, tropical, and floral
What is NY Cascade 023™?
Through research and development, the New York Hop Guild has discovered that our New York grown Cascade has a higher amount of bound precursor thiols than other hop thiol products on the market. Initially we thought this may have been a one-time occurrence, but through extensive testing we have discovered that the abundance of bound thiols is unique to the terroir of New York State! With up to three times more 3MH Precursors (Passionfruit/Grapefruit/Guava) than PNW Cascade, our 023™ branded Cascade is a powerhouse of flavors for thiolized beers. We highly recommend utilizing these TRUE90™ pellets in the mash with a thiolized yeast like Cosmic Punch® or Star Party™ from Omega Yeast.
What are Bound Thiols?
Bound thiols are a precursor compound that consists of a thiol (a class of aromatic compound) bound to glutathione, cysteine, and dipeptide intermediates.
The bound thiol content normally consists of a higher concentration of bound 3SH/3MH (Passionfruit/Grapefruit/Guava), than found in the free thiol content of many varieties of hops.
How Do You Unlock Bound Thiols?
Unlocking bound thiols requires a two-step process:
Mash Hopping!!! Everyone’s favorite blast from the past is back in style! Mash hopping employs an enzymatic process that breaks down glutathione bound thiols into cysteine bound thiols.
Utilizing a Thiolized Yeast! By Breaking down these precursors into cysteine bound thiols, this enables yeasts with IRC7 and PatB Enzymes to break down the bonds with cysteine, setting the thiols free and unlocking Cascade 023™’s immense amount of flavor!
What’re the Benefits?
By unleashing the power of bound thiols, our Cascade 023™ can give you a similar punch of flavor to that of propriety varieties with elevated free thiol content.
With the Mash Hopping technique you can dramatically increase your yield by minimizing hop additions in the Kettle and Whirlpool.
Cascade 023™’s enhanced bound thiol content allows you to maximize flavor and aromas while minimizing bitterness in your product.
Recommended Usage Rates?
We recommend as little as 0.50 lbs/bbl up to 2.5 lbs/bbl in the mash, though most brewers agree that 0.75-1.0 lbs/bbl is an excellent sweet spot!
For homebrewers, that’s roughly 0.25 oz/gallon up to 1.25 oz/gallon, with 0.4-0.5 oz/gallon being the sweet spot.
When calculating bitterness during the mash hopping, a good general guideline is about 30% of calculated IBUs from an equivalent by weight 60-minute kettle addition.
Hop Statistics:
Alpha Acids: 6.8%
Total Oils in mls per 100 grams dried: 1.0
Thiols ug/g: 26.2

Have you ever removed a ball lock beer faucet from a keg and tried to rinse it out when it is off the keg? Quite difficult, as you have to press in the center pin of the beer ball lock while siimultaneously opening the faucet and holding it under a running faucet.
This solid stainless device opens any female ball lock fitting, so it stays open when you rinse out your keg faucet. Leave it in place after rinsing and it will facilitate drying. The stainless nut on the end makes it easy to grasp when installing and removing from a ball lock fitting.
This allows you to essentially engage a ball lock QD for the purpose of making cleaning easier.
Stainless Steel Ball Lock Jumper from Valuebrew with Food Grade Silicone O-Rings: Allows you to connect multiple ball lock runs to clean multiple lines and taps at the same time. Works with both liquid and gas QDs. That option has the added advantage of having a post on both sides so you can engage a ball lock QD for cleaning AND use it as a jumper. AND they’re cheaper.

Brand new corny-style ball lock keg with molded rubber base and dual-handle tops. The handles are comfortable to grip, making the keg easier to handle when full. The rubber bottom allows for stacking, won’t scuff your floor, and is less likely to damage tile or crack the plastic lining inside your kegerator. High-quality 304 stainless steel construction. These kegs are NSF-approved, robotically welded, and manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility.
We first announced this in March. They sold out in relatively short order.
As of this post they’re back in stock and still at the introductory price of just $99.99. Considering shipping is also free to many US addresses, this is a bargain.
The price is going to go up… I’m confident pricing on these will go up as the single handle version is $50 MORE. Single handle kegs are typically cheaper than double handle kegs so I could see this keg going up above $149.99.

Firestone Walker Hopnosis Cold IPA Kits via MoreBeer
From the beer description, check product page for current description, price and availability:
One of the newest takes on the IPA style—Cold IPAs are highly hopped but fermented cold with a lager strain
Features 11 hop additions of varieties from America and New Zealand including Mosaic® Cryo Hops®
This Brewmaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with Firestone Walker Brewing Company
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
A new way to IPA! Firestone Walker’s Hopnosis IPA represents one of the tastiest examples of a new beer style that is quickly gaining ground—Cold IPA. These beers feature the massive hopping schedules you’d expect from an IPA but are then fermented cold with a lager strain. This gives the beer a clean, crisp and crushable profile while allowing the hops to be on full display. From the top of the boil to the final post fermentation dry hop, you’ll find a long list of delicious hop varieties from the U.S. and New Zealand. One of the standouts is Mosaic® Cryo Hops® which are used as the biotransformation dry hop addition. Prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by Hopnosis IPA’s explosion of tropical fruit flavors including mango, passionfruit, white grape, and lychee.
What Firestone Walker Has to Say About Hopnosis:
In early 2022, we launched Hopnosis as our next-generation West Coast-style IPA. Now the time has come to embrace an even more accurate stylistic moniker for Hopnosis: Cold IPA. While IPAs are typically fermented with ale yeasts, cold IPAs like Hopnosis are fermented with lager yeasts. Remember that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, so fermenting an IPA with lager yeasts signifies a break with tradition.
“When you use a lager yeast to ferment an IPA, you get a cleaner and less ester-driven aroma profile,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The colder fermentation also creates a lighter backbone that helps accentuate the bright, tropical hops we’re using. So while Hopnosis offers a lot of things you love in a straight-ahead West Coast IPA, the lager yeast is what pushes it toward the Cold IPA style.”
As a result, Hopnosis rings all the bells of a Cold IPA: crisp and crushable, with a clean hop profile.

This food grade silicone and stainless gas dip tube fits all ball and pin lock kegs, and does not require an O ring to seal.
Best of all, by being only 3/4 of an inch long, it increases the headspace in your keg, so you are less likely to have beer come up the gas side and into your lines. Fill your kegs more and reduce headspace with this little part.
William’s Says… “Increase Keg Capacity… With the Uni Gas Dip Tube from Homebrewer Labs. Silicone and stainless, this ¾” long gas dip tube fits all kegs, and increases keg capacity by allowing higher fills. By increasing capacity, you also reduce the amount of air in contact with your beer.”

The Brew Bucket was the first product and the origin of Ss Brewtech, and for many brewers, the Brew Bucket was their first chance to ferment in stainless steel. Nearly a decade later, Ss challenged their engineering team to pair some of the newest technologies with the original design.
Brew Bucket Pure Flow Valve
The star of the Brew Bucket 2.0 is the new Brew Bucket Pure Flow Valve. This valve uses Pure Flow technology, originally developed for the Ss line of professional brewhouses. The removable silicone membrane of the valve provides a sanitary environment where beer makes contact with nothing except silicone. Additionally, they have molded the racking arm geometry into the valve’s silicone diaphragm to provide a seamless flow path for beer when transferring from the Brew Bucket 2.0.
Sanitary Connection
The valve attaches to the Brew Bucket using a welded external garden hose thread fitting that allows for a compact, easy-to-use connection without the need to fumble with additional clamps and gaskets. The threads are located externally and sealed by the gaskets built into the Pure Flow silicone, keeping them clean and sanitary. With the new valve design, the brewer can fully rotate the racking arm 360 degrees for maximum control while racking a finished beer.
Conical Base
The Brew Bucket 2.0 continues what made the original a great solution for home brewers. The pro-inspired conical base helps minimize trub interaction with fermented beer, thus limiting any concerns of off flavors produced during maturation. Combined with the rotatable racking arm, brewers can effortlessly rack off clean beer like the pros do in craft breweries.
Full Width Lid
The Brew Bucket 2.0 features the same full-width removable lid as the original, with a wide access opening that makes cleaning and sanitizing a breeze. Finally, the included thermowell has been repositioned to the lid, and the increased length allows for accurate readings, even when brewing partial batches.
Features
Pro-Inspired Conical base
Blow off port in lid for airlocks or blow off tubing

Designing every piece of our electric brewing equipment from scratch has enabled us to introduce a new level of process control, flexibility, and performance. Every detail has been carefully thought through and refined.
Beginning with control, our eControllers include a fully proportional PID output, which doesn’t rely on SSR’s or high speed switching to modulate heat. Instead, voltage is modulated, this means element wattage is proportional, and can be fine-tuned from 0-100% for holding temps steady during a mash rest, or dialing in a perfect rolling boil. The eController quickly finds equilibrium with environmental heat loss characteristics, and can maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Next, we thought about the best way to maintain a high level of flexibility. One such method was using a common interconnect throughout our line of eControllers and eKettles, in an attempt to minimize proprietary connectors, and leverage trusted UL approved connector types. The modularity of our eBrewing system allows a user to splice an HLT or Boil Kettle into their system for instance, without having to purchase an entirely new 3 vessel brewhouse.
In addition, flexibility is realized through the use of our custom-designed element and eKettle element port, which allows for easy removal of the element for cleaning. In addition, we didn’t settle for a common, off the shelf straight or ripple element. Instead, we designed a low watt density halo element, specifically sized to the corresponding kettle volume. This design is better suited to distributing heat evenly throughout the kettle, in addition to fostering an effective whirlpool and trub cone formation. Crafted from Incoloy 800 alloy, our element carries a higher resistance to heat and oxidation than standard stainless.
Lastly, performance is deeply important to everything we design. We sized the element and controller in both 10 and 20 gallon sizes to maximize a standard 240 VAC, 30 amp residential circuit. As a result ramp times are quick, which work to shorten the brew day. We also wanted to blend some of our latest product enhancements alongside some of our classic tech. So we decided on a kettle with fully welded TC fittings, alongside our venerable trub dam, which is now paired with a TC ball valve. Even small aesthetic details were not overlooked, such as a front to back handle orientation for a more compact horizontal brewhouse layout. Or integrating a PT100 temperature probe into the heating element base, which alleviates the need for a dedicated thermowell port.
1, 2, and 3 vessel systems are available as well as stand alone controllers and accessories.

From Great Fermentations: A mix of wheat, malted oats and chit malt lay over the base malt to give that thick haze. The hop flavors and aromas are brought to life by Crystal, Chinook Comet and Michigan Copper hops; not a combo you would expect, but when grown in the state of Indiana, these hops are super J-U-I-C-Y!
SUGAR CREEK MALT
Malt from Sugar Creek is always awesome. For this particular beer, we focused on a combination of Chit, malted oats, and wheat to bump up the haze factor by 11x.
CRAZY HORSE HOPS
Crystal, comet, chinook, and copper are not your typical hazy IPA hops. But, when these hops are grown in Indiana, they transform and offer a totally different experience than their west coast brethren.
PAX VERUM // Lapel, IN.
The team at Pax Verum has been brewing great beer since 2018, and their five-year anniversary is coming up at the end of April! This was a special collab for us, as we got to work with the head brewer at Pax, and former Great Fermentations employee, Colt Carpenter. He was great to work with and really helped to nail down the perfect combo of malt and hops for the ultimate juicy haze.
