Recipe for Wil Wheaton’s w00tstout!

Back around 2014. Wil Wheaton of Star Trek The Next Generation fame got into homebrewing. At that time he partnered with Northern Brewer to release two recipe kits VandalEyes PA and w00tstout. Since Wil has apparently stopped homebrewing as his homebrew website is currently closed. Northern Brewer has also dropped his kits from their lineup. I have both the all grain and extract versions of w00tstout that I can share with you.

w00tstout was a collaboration between Wil and Stone Brewing that was also released commercially in 2016.

Now some years later, a perfect storm of brewing conditions would cause Matt and Charlie’s paths to cross again. The American Homebrewers Association, whose membership refers to Charlie as Mr. President, held their annual conference in Baltimore earlier this summer, just east of our fair brewery. Matt and Charlie connected and put together the aptly-named Airwaves, an India Pale Lager that showcases Matt and Charlie’s collective love of hops.

To no one’s surprise the commemorative beer was a hit, and while we only brewed enough for the conference we knew we would have homebrewers looking for more. We tucked a little bit away and got the go ahead to share the recipe with you so that is exactly what we plan to do.

On WEDNESDAY, JULY 20 stop by the brewery and enjoy a sample of Airwaves and PICK UP THE RECIPE TO BREW AT HOME OR SHARE WITH FRIENDS. It’s like the old saying goes, give a man a beer and his immediate thirst will be satisfied, teach a man to brew and he will lead a life of passion and purpose.

Jester King Brewery Homebrew Recipes – Straight from the Brewery! + Source for Jester King Brewery Culture & More Recipes!

The fine brewers at Jester King based in Austin Texas have released homebrew recipes for 6 of their beers.  Kudos to Jester King for sharing with the homebrewing community!

Fact: Firestone Walker has been named “Mid-Size Brewery of the Year” four times. Another fact: Pale 31 has won 10 Gold Medals since 2003 (yeah, that’s one a year!).

The Pale 31 California Pale Ale is what some refer to as “The Perfect American Pale Ale”. Light in body and color, but strong in hop flavor and aroma, this is one of those beers that most beer lovers will always want on tap. After having one, you’ll most likely want another, and being under 5% ABV makes this a little more possible! The recipe consists of our ultralight liquid malt extract, Munich malt, and dextrin for added mouthfeel. The hops are a perfect blend of Fuggles, Chinook, Cascade and Centennial.

Firestone Walker’s head brewer Matt Brynildson had worked on his Pale Ale recipe for a long time before being perfectly satisfied. We know that once you taste this beer, you’ll agree with us that his hard work has definitely paid off!

Recipe for Wil Wheaton’s w00tstout!

Back around 2014. Wil Wheaton of Star Trek The Next Generation fame got into homebrewing. At that time he partnered with Northern Brewer to release two recipe kits VandalEyes PA and w00tstout. Since Wil has apparently stopped homebrewing as his homebrew website is currently closed. Northern Brewer has also dropped his kits from their lineup. I have both the all grain and extract versions of w00tstout that I can share with you.

w00tstout was a collaboration between Wil and Stone Brewing that was also released commercially in 2016.
