A Search to Help… The sale pages allows you to sort by best selling. That’s great because you can see what other people are buying the most of. The down side is that smaller items can sell a lot and make the results unhelpful. For example, when you buy 2 row, you may buy 20 lbs. That counts as 20 items and makes 2 row show up high in the list. To illustrate that, the current top selling thing is an ice pack for yeast. Lots of yeast gets sold and lots of ice packs.

This search eliminates items that cost less than $60 AND sorts by best selling. The results are much more helpful.

Announcing: Glacial Advance Cold IPA Kits at Great Fermentations

Cold IPA is here! Glacial Advance is our take on the up and coming west coast style, which delivers a hoppy beer with a light and clear body. Hoppy with a medium to high perceived bitterness, this style is not overpowering, and gets a light body from its use of adjuncts (flaked maize, in this case) and a lower mash temperature, as well as from a lager strain fermented at the top of its temperature range. In our experimental batches, we have found that this beer also comes out wonderfully if using Lutra as the yeast, and can be fermented anywhere in its wide temperature range. We use Idaho 7 as the bittering addition, with Citra Cryo and Strata at whirlpool, along with Citra and Simcoe for a dry hop. See what all the buzz is about with this delicious beer that will leave you wanting more with each sip!

American Pale Ale Kits at MoreBeer

Looking for the perfect Pale Ale to share with friends this summer? Do you like a Pale Ale with a rich malt flavor and a ton of hop character but without an overwhelming bitterness? Then the Pale Ale II should be your next brew.

We took our American Pale recipe and upped the malt, threw a ton of hops in the finish for flavor, but kept the bitterness the same. We think toning down the perceived bitterness is one reason we consistently get great reviews from brewers sharing this with friends.

Keeping it real: Part of the success of this kit is blending a lot of Willamette and Cascade hops in the finish. This isn’t a wild, new or crazy idea… this is old school. Cascade and Willamette were the hops that helped put craft brewing on the map in the 1980’s. The reason they are still so popular… they make a damn good beer. We like damn good beer. And yes we like to wear our Sperry Topsiders and listen to Van Halen when we drink this (note if you were born in the 80’s ignore this comment).
