Spicy flavor and firm bitterness supported by a velvety-smooth body
Includes Magnum and Columbus hops
Estimated ABV: 6.6%
Estimated IBUs: 40-44
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
You’ve never had this beer before, and, until very recently, neither had we. Imagine: a sexy, red color, spicy flavor, velvety-smooth body, terrific head, plus an aroma you could eat, all wrapped up with a firm bitterness. How did we do it? The creative shotgun approach! Continually throw enough stuff into the mix and, eventually, you score a win like this one. We started with a basic recipe similar to our famous Irish Red, but added Rye as well. A brash move? You bet! But we didn’t stop there. We’ve added Magnum and Columbus hops everywhere, including into the carboy for dry hopping. If you want to go for a Home Run, add 1oz of the included French Oak chips after the first week of fermentation.

Craig has been perfecting his Travelin Man recipe over the years by brewing for competitions and for his own consumption at home. Travelin Man is at the high end of the pale ale guidelines, with a nice balance between the malt and hops. This is a great beer to let cold condition. Cold conditioning brings forward the malt flavors and makes it even easier drinking. Craig created this beer to take the edge off a long day of driving on the southern California freeway system and as his house ale. So whether you have been to the East or just feel like someone has given you the third degree, this fine ale will deliver what you are looking for. Craig recommends using White Labs California Ale Yeast.

John is at it again! Since purchasing our B3-2050 Brewing Sculpture a few years back, John Maier has created many specialty recipes just for himself. And since his I2PA was such a hit when we released it, we asked him for another one. Being the nice guy that he is, he sent over one of his private, 2050-System-only, impossible-to-taste-unless-you-live-in-Newport, Oregon brews – Blackened Brutal Bitter! John took his production beer, the wonderful Brutal Bitter, tweaked it around a bit and added some Carafa for color. The taste is out of this world! Try it and let us know. Or better yet, drop John a line and tell him!
Makes 5 gallons
Estimated Original Gravity: 1.062-66
SRM (Color Range): 30-32
IBUs: 67-71
Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.5%

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Proper Sake Co.
An incredibly crushable light pale ale made with White Koji. Refreshing and citrusy
Includes Cascade and Huell Melon hops
Estimated ABV: 5.5%
Estimated IBUs: 12
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
Whether you’re in constant search of new ways to push the “traditional boundaries” of brewing, or you’re just looking for another crushable crowd pleaser to add to your arsenal of recipes, Proper Sake’s White Koji Ale is the beer for you. As the name implies, this recipe is crafted around the specialty ingredient of White Koji. Koji is a staple ingredient in the fermentation processes for sake, soy sauce, miso, and more. But White Koji, in particular, is gaining ground as a new brewing ingredient which can impart a beautiful citric acidity in the final beer.
This recipe from Proper Sake Co. results in an incredibly crushable light pale ale with a slight haze in the glass. The malt character will hang in the background as Cascade and Huell Melon support the overall refreshing, citrusy quality enhanced by the White Koji.
Our friends at Proper Sake Co. are specialists in Kimoto and Yamahai sake production—and have been known to apply their fermentation knowledge to a beer or two. Next time you find yourself in Nashville, TN, pop into Rice Vice bar to sample from their amazing selection of sake.
Makes 5 gallons
Estimated Original Gravity: 1.052-57
SRM (Color Range): 4
IBUs: 12
Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.5%
