From HBF: Make sure the components you use are compatible and rated for your intended application. Contact manufacturer with questions about suitability or a specific application. Always read and follow manufacturer directions.
Note from HBF: These type of filters are sometimes used as part of oxygenation or aeration setups. I’ve also used a similar filter to help start a siphon. See MoreBeer’s Sterile Siphon Starter for more info on that process. The basic idea is you use a compatible carboy hood and racking cane and blow into a compatible filter to start the flow of liquid. The filter used in MoreBeer’s setup looks similar to this one, although I’m not certain it’s identical.

Easy Jiggler – Stainless Auto Siphon Racking Cane from MoreBeer
From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:
The Easy Jiggler combines the convenience of a hand-pump auto siphon with the longevity and simplicity of a stainless steel racking cane. Plastic auto siphons are easy to use, but they’re prone to cracking after heavy use and can break easily if they’re dropped on the ground. Stainless racking canes won’t break on you, but getting the siphon started is its own debacle. You either have to cap your carboy and blow through the hood, exposing your beer to oxygen, or you have to suck on the end of the hose, which isn’t exactly sanitary. Enter the jiggle siphon, the last racking cane you’ll ever own!
Made from 304 stainless steel, the Easy Jiggler will last a lifetime and can be quickly disassembled for cleaning and sanitizing. To use, simply insert the tip of the jiggler into your fermenter and give it a few long, steady strokes to begin the siphon. Once it’s going, you’ll hear the glass ball inside spinning away. To avoid disturbing the trub cake at the bottom of the fermenter, we recommend doing the jiggling action near the surface and then lower the cane once the siphon has begun.
22.5″ long
Made from 304 stainless steel
Includes 60″ length of 10mm ID silicone tubing

Transfer beer or wine between vessels without the hassle of starting a siphon
Place your receiving vessel side-by-side or even above the transferring vessel
Perfect for transferring between primary and secondary fermenter, or from fermenter to bottling bucket or keg
Eliminate excess oxygen exposure caused by hand-pumping or blowing into a carboy hood to start a siphon
The Super Sucker transfer pump is the quickest, most hassle-free solution to moving beer or wine between vessels. Rack from primary fermenter to secondary or from carboy to keg without the excess oxygen exposure that results from hand-pumping a siphon or blowing into a carboy hood. Simply run transfer tubing from a racking cane to the pump and then to your receiving vessel, flip the switch, and let the Super Sucker do the work while you kick back and enjoy a cold beverage.
With the Super Sucker you don’t need gravity or CO2 pressure to move liquid around. Thanks to the pump’s considerable max lift height, you can leave your heavy, full fermenter on the ground and place the receiving keg or carboy side-by-side or even above the fermenter on a countertop.
The 10 mm barbed inlet and outlet are perfect for use with 3/8″ ID tubing. We recommend using our Racking Cane Siphon Kit plus 5 ft. of 3/8″ vinyl tubing. Secure pump connections with butterfly hose clamps for easy set up and break down.
Features:
Self-Priming
10 mm Barbed Inlet/Outlet
On/Off Switch
Max Flow: 1.12 Gal/min
Suction: 5 in.
Max Lift: 150 in. (12.5 ft.)
Maximum Temperature: 140°F
