44 quarts is 11 gallons. At an estimate of 5 lbs per gallon, you could store about 66 lbs of grain in each of these of these. That’s a rough estimate, actual storage capacity will vary.

If you use this plastic bucket for fermentation be sure to use care when cleaning. Do not use any abrasive pads that would scratch. Once you get a scratch in a plastic bucket it is very hard to sanitize. This is also why we don’t recommend storing equipment in a bucket between uses as a fermenter. A hot PBW soak is often a perfect way to clean a bucket, followed by a Star San soak for killing bacteria.

Bucket has external volume markings up to 5 gallons.

Buckets are translucent and do not come with lids.
Buckets are not designed to hold pressure.

Possible Homebrew Uses: Storage – General storage and organization around your home brewery. 2. Grain Storage – If you don’t require an airtight container, you could use this for grain storage. 56 quarts = 14 gallons. My rule of thumb for grain storage is 5 lbs per gallon. My estimate for grain storage capacity for this container is about 70 lbs. Again, it is not airtight.

This has a stated 32.5 quart capacity. My rule of thumb for unmilled grain storage is 5 lbs per gallon. 32.5 quarts is 8.125 gallons. At 5 lbs per gallon an 8.125 gallon container would hold about 40.625 lbs of grain. That’s a rough estimate based on an assumed capacity. Actual storage capacity will vary.
