ZChiller – Spiral Star Design Counterflow Wort Chillers – Made in the US

I had the chance to take a look at ZChillers at NHC this past summer.  ZChillers are double tube counter flow wort chillers.  The interior tubing is a Spiral Star Design.  This spiraling increases the surface area of copper that’s in contact with your wort.  It also increases turbulence.  More movement across more surface area means your wort chills quickly.  Chilling performance graphs are available on ZChillers Website in the News Section.  While you’re there, take a gander at the Testimonials section.

Three versions are available starting at $159.99.  ZChillers come with your choice of no fittings, 1/2″ NPT and Male Garden Hose Fittings.

Three Models Are Available…

Standard ZChiller – 9″ diameter, 3.5″ tall, made from 102″ of copper tubing. Our original design created with small-batch homebrewers in mind. Compact, efficient, and recommended for batches of 7.5 gallons or less.

Large ZChiller – 9″ diameter, 5.125″ tall, made from 154″ of copper tubing. Our most versatile chiller, the Large ZChiller can handle much larger batches that require a higher degree of cooling while at the same time retaining the ability to be used for small batches as well. This Immersion Chiller features ½ inch FPT fitting on the recirculation arm to accommodate a barb, a nipple, or a quick disconnect fitting for more customized connections and easier attachments. Its water inlet is ¾ inch female garden hose thread, while the water outlet is ¾ inch male garden hose thread. This makes it easy to attach the chiller to just about any common water source. I use a similar immersion chiller with recirculation arm along with a high flow March Pump to chill.  Using this technique, I get 5 gallon batches chilled to pitching temp in around 6 to 10 minutes, depending on ground water temps.

This popular addition to your home brewing system promises to cool your wort to the perfect low temperature to get the best cold break possible, and getting your wort to the ideal pitching temperature on the first pass.

Equipped with a 1/2 inch MPT wort inlet and outlet to match up to the most common size of home brewery hoses, as well as a 3/4 inch MPT water inlet and outlet for easy connection to garden hose fittings. It measures approximately 8.25 inches long, 4 inches high and 3 inches wide.
