Why would these have anything to do with homebrewing, you ask? Great question. These are an easy way to measure 6 mL of Star San. Put 6 mL of Star San in 1 gallon of distilled water and you’ve got sanitizing solution. Fill up a spray bottle and you’re ready to sanitize for pennies a batch. These are unique in that they are made from glass and medical. That means they’re likely to stand up better to Star San (see “regular replacement” section below)

Regular Replacement:
I recommend regularly replacing plastic items used with acidic solutions like Star San.
Five Star Chemicals says that you should not soak items in Star San solution for extended periods of time. Even chemical resistant bottles are not impervious to damage caused by extended exposure to acid. Glass and stainless are exceptions. See: Star San Tips and Tricks
