If you need hop sack weights, just go to the hardware/mega-home improvement store and get 1-1/2″ or 2″ stainless steel fender washers. I found them heavy enough. Easy to clean – flat – no nooks and crannies. About $1.20 for a pack of 2.
Yes, it should work as a hop sack weight. I imagine it’s at least as much as SS 1/2″ locknut. But, to answer your question, for the two that I have, it’s hollow where the threads are.
i.e., is it solid or hollow?
Not sure, but one of the reviews says… “Great End Cap and built to last being made of solid stainless steel.”

Shipping weight is 1.6 ounces.
