If you’re tired of wasting time stirring your wort chiller to speed up the cooling process, you might want to try recirculation instead. This Immersion Chiller features a recirculation arm soldered to our popular WC45 SuperChiller, making the best-selling chiller even more effective than ever before. Recirculating you wort can also bring out more hop flavor and wonderful aromas in your IPAs, which is something that every brewer can appreciate.
This Immersion Chiller features ½ inch FPT fitting on the recirculation arm to accommodate a barb, a nipple, or a quick disconnect fitting for more customized connections and easier attachments. Its water inlet is ¾ inch female garden hose thread, while the water outlet is ¾ inch male garden hose thread. This makes it easy to attach the chiller to just about any common water source. With high quality copper piping throughout, you won’t find a chiller more durable or more impressive than this one.
I use a similar immersion chiller with recirculation arm along with a high flow March Pump to chill. Using this technique, I get 5 gallon batches chilled to pitching temp in around 6 to 10 minutes, depending on ground water temps.
For an illustration of how well a recirculating chiller works, check out Hands On Review: More Beer’s Inline Thermometer. That has a time trial where I chill down 5.25 gallons of wort down to 68 degrees in 9 minutes and 12 seconds.
