Does anyone use this for strike water/mash temps?
I wouldn’t use them for that. They’re terribly inaccurate. While they display to .1C, they’re only accurate to 1C.
I’ve got 6 of these. I embedded one in each of my four stir plates, then drilled a hole in the back of the casing for the probe the feed out. I place the probe into my starters. When the starters complete and the yeast goes dormant, I usually see a 2F drop in the starter to let me know it’s fully fermented out.
