  • This plastic airtight container is the ideal solution for storing dog or cat food, other pet food, and more.
  • Pet food bins have airtight seals and snap lock latches to keep out moisture and pests for secure dry food storage.
  • 12 QT storage container stacks on the 33 QT storage container, and included scoop makes measuring food easy.
  • BPA free rolling storage bins come with casters for easy mobility.Perfect for dry dog food, cat food, or bird seed
  • Dimensions: 16.50″L x 10.83″W x 18.63″H
  • Capacity: 33-quart container stores up to 25-pounds and 12-quart container stores up to 10-pounds

My rule of thumb for unmilled grain storage is about 5 lbs per gallon.  At that estimate, You could get about 41.25 lbs of grain in the 33 quart (8.25 gallons) container and about 15 lbs of grain in the 12 quart (3 gallon) container.  These are rough estimates.  Actual capacities will vary.

For future reference, I was able to successfully fit a 50lb Briess bag of Rye into one set of these. I was not able to fit a 55lb bag of 2-row into a set. I may take a few more minutes to shake it to settle the grain and try again, but it is going to be very close. One additional note on these, when you pick these containers up to move around, the lock doubles as a handle, as such, it is very easy to unlock it and potentially spill the grain.

Alternatively, Walmart sells dog food containers. They feel a little thinner plastic, the wheels only roll in one direction (they have an axle, not on castors). They also have a similar foam seal, and they sell a 50lb dogfood container for about $22. This fit a 55lb of grain with lots of room to spare.
